Unfortunately, I just raise the price of Cherry Logo R4 to $28 for each. But for those of you who have paid $15 for the Cherry Logo, you don't need to pay any extra, so don't worry. MKC just told me that the cost of making these Cherry Logo R4s is two times the other R4 keys. He didn't even know until the producing got started. Sorry about this guys.

Hello GHers, eventually MKC has made these out. I asked for iMav's permission and let MKC make these about 2 months ago. Finally they're all finished.

Most of them are "POP UP", except the "geekhack" R4 which is engraved.

All of them will be polished, so they look shiny.  Different from the anodized aluminum keycaps.

Please tonice, the Cherry Logo, Terran, and Adorable Skull will be the same as the others, the final product will NOT be in red color.

And they are all OEM profile.


I will stop taking order on September 20th. I'll ask MKC to ship some of them to me lately and I'll ship the orders to those who have submitted their orders.

First class is the standard, usually quite slow method of shipping and priority is a faster more safer method meaning you will get it quicker.

Neither Priority nor First Class come with standard tracking numbers.  In fact, to my knowledge, there is NO option to add a tracking number to Priority shipments.  There is, however, a 'Customs Number' that some countries track when entering their country.  The 'Customs Number' shows, at the very least, that the package left the United States.  It will typically not give you any further information than that on the USPS.com website.

My experience with various USPS options as someone living in Europe, although it most likely varies from country to country (sorry if it's too OT):

1. First Class Mail International - about 1-2 weeks delivery, can be tracked but only while its still in US, once it goes through the sorting facility out of US there will be no more updates
2. Priority Mail International - delivery time ranges between couple days and a week or so, has different kind of tracking number than First Class and if your local postal service supports it (mine does), can be tracked all the way to the destination
3. Express Mail International - takes only few days, the only sure way to get proper tracking all the way to the destination, but too expensive to be worth it for items of lesser value

Customs however are quite a gamble and can sometimes hold up a package for ages, even if it only took few days to get to your country.

Just put a conical thing between the 4 stems, and press it so you push them appart.

I don't want to start something, but are you able at all to provide 'additional' colouring to the current bare aluminum keys at all?

I thought that if you could provide anodizing for an extra fee then I would pay more to get a red coloured 'anything' from you.  And you don't have to go overboard with any multiple colours.  Just RED.

Please let me know.  You have sold keys in the past that were anodized just wondering why not now?

These keys were anodized first, and then got polished. That's what I know.

MKC has tested these polished keys for a few months and it came out with no problems like oxidizing.

please be aware that not every source of keycaps uses the same order -- in particular, SP is backwards in comparison. so it was a fair question -- even when people list the profile of certain keys it's good to clarify what profile 'scheme' is being used.

My point exactly, you never age, any diseases you once had are gone.  In a sense you are forever frozen in perpetual youth.  Plus as the world starts to over populate with Billions upon Billions of people, you've got a never ending food supply to last you till the end of time.  Vampires simply rule, enough said.

No worries, at least it's just $28 instead of $128.00 then that, would be off putting.  What's the point of being in business making stuff if your losing money in time.  You got to make a profit these days, even in China.  People here in the West think that they should get a 100% authentically made Rolls Royce for a couple thousand dollars but they forget that in China the cost of manufacturing has gone up, power, rent, resources and peoples wages plus taxes and charges to local/federal governments.

It slowly gets more expensive as time goes by, due to these circumstances.  That's why now you have some BIG western companies are looking into India to set up camp due to lower costs for manufacturing.  Times, they are a changing.

Mine just came in the mail! I just got a dragon, and it looks great. They're lighter than I thought it would be, but that's aluminum for ya. The LED shining through the dragon's eye is pretty sweet, but I like the glow around the key even better. Thanks feng!

Debating over grabbing a second set of StarCraft keys and drilling into them for LED lighting...

I've found that LED lighting shows very well from underneath and around the key cap. It is reflected much better off the sides and gives a neat effect. I need to get some photos up, but there are some photos of LED lighting on the first page. I have the dragon and I barely see any LED through the eye. Might be because the LED is placed below the switch on my board, though.

Just got mine in the mail today! Awesome looking caps! Although the backspace seems to be pretty loose, guess I'll try putting a bit of tape on the stems.

Just got my keys in today! They look awesome! My Terran key has a small bit on the corner where the key wasn't cut down quite as far, and I tightened up the base of my Zerg cap a little, but it's all fantastic! Can't wait for my Ducky Shine 2 to come in to replace my Blackwidow and make the keys really light up.

most likely not, been offered by many people that they'd pay for red versions, but feng says MKC has refused.
