When would it be acceptable to begin conjecturing wildly about R2?
Hmm yes some kind of blue modifiers would be great, perhaps in a shade of light blue or even turquoise. A mustard yellow has a nice retro feel as well and we don't really have any yellow sets yet.
Mustard Yellow! Mustard Yellow!

Matt3o, is there a way to have the place/review order page show an uneditable list of what I ordered?  I honestly don't exactly remember how many of what, and I was thinking of picking up some of the extras... assuming there are still some left to pick up...

We will do something to (a) show you what you ordered and if possible (b) let you add any extras we have after sorting.  About 20% of the orders were either manual or manually-changed, so that has to be fed back into Matt3o's system or something.

You might want to try to structure it as an extremely low-margin home business.

$31,875 income, $31,860 cost of goods expense, or something like that.  Thus declaring the income, but also clearly delineating that almost all of it goes right back the door.

So, not to be too precise about it, but after we pay another $4000 in postage out to the members, we estimate to  be +/- $300 USD of zero net margin.  My goal is to lose less than $100 USD so this is treated as a hobby and not a business by the tax men.

No one wants to lose around $1000 to PayPal twice, once is enough. What worries me about group buys of this magnitude is how does it effect your taxes?

It is income if you make money.  If you lose money, but it is a hobby, no tax impact.  If you lose money and it is a business, then you get to declare the deduction.  Schedule C in the US.

(YMMV, consult your tax advisor, puppies are cute.)

I am about to go through my PM in-box now, and will do an updated who-paid later this morning.  I will also send out payment reminders, and if you don't get one of those, then PayPal says you paid.

Blue and orange are my school colors, but that's too much. Blue caps with orange ledgends would look 100x better

Salmon and brown, so retro, back before they had even invented color schemes! --> http://lab.cubiq.org/kbcc/#TBN,WCK,RCU,WCK
Or, some kind of orange modifier. This assumes white on blue, as that should be a given.  ;D

I hate to go against the east coast (where I've lived all my life) but I prefer the SAIL colourscheme to the space-cadet.

Ofcourse, the coffee/beige scheme is much older than spacecadet.

Order placed with SP for $31,860.05.

All final PayPal invoices sent out; many were paid immediately.  (Thanks!)

Now we wait for plastic and fabrication.

Thanks to everyone for helping this be a fast, furious and successful group buy!

p.s.  I read and worked through everyone's messages.  If you didn't get a personal reply, that only meant I understood and had what I needed.

Hey Sam, just touching the surface - it's been a week since order was placed - any news from SP? Can we assume they accepted the order and are in the middle of production? Did they give you any details in terms when they going to finish to make the whole order, etc?

You can even do QGMLWB or QGMLWY (carpalx layouts) if you're okay with the dishes on the middle fingers.

I believe you can even forego the dishes entirely, if that's your thing.

I don't mind not hving dishes/nubs/scoops/lines on my keys, as I'm used to my terminal IBM keyboard.

I may try some of hte carpalx layouts.
