Thanks i3oilermaker.  I was going to ask about that as I am planning on giving away my stainless JD40.  But it is going to be a contest, so looks like the 3-6 block will work best.

Anyone live near TJ that can bring the GH60 group buy materials for sorting, boxing, and shipping? Just a thought. I wasn't going to go but would if we can get the GH60 group buy closed out.

Not really feasible, even if someone were. To get from Dallas to Chicago for a weekend is a plane trip, not a car trip. Doubtful you could get all the GB stuff into checked baggage.

I thought Friday might go like this:

- view Chicago from the Willis Tower
- visit Chicago Board of Trade
- have lunch at Chez Quis (reservations will be under the name "Abe Froman")
- catch a Cubs game at Wrigley Field
- take in some art at the Art Institute of Chicago
- attend German-American Parade

Maybe we need to rent a convertible Ferrari for this?

Don't forget Mitsuwa in Arlington Heights for snacks from Asia (ie: Green tea Kitkats, etc...)

I go there all the time, it's a great Japanese market! I'm just warning you - it will be MOBBED with people from Acen because it happens on the same weekend. It may still be worth it to go, just be warned of the crazy cosplayers. Go Friday if you want anything, because the popular items sell out pretty quickly that weekend. Pro-tip: melon pans are located to your right in the corner, and they are delish. Bring cash if you want anything from the food court.

My "trial run" trip to Chicago was a success.  I'm ready for this weekend!

I went to a concert, not a real trial trip.

I don't know about anyone else, but I definitely want some deep dish pizza for lunch on Saturday. Anyone in the area that could coordinate the logistics of it? Anyone else with me?

There's a spot near the venue I was looking to check out called Burt's Place. Dunno if it'll be crowded or how many people want in but I'd be interested. Otherwise we could go to where we went last time.

My flight arrives into Midway at midnight Thursday night/Friday morning. If someone wants to pick me up, that would be awesome. Otherwise, I'll catch a cab to the hotel I've booked, which is the Renaissance Chicago North Shore.

If you're around Thursday during the day (and not working) we should do something.  I took all of Thursday off work so I could hang with people in the evening (I live 4 hours away), but I don't have plans during the day.  :)

Does anyone have interest in seeing an Anker Vertical Mouse or CST LTAC trackball?

Also since I haven't really seen any plans and haven't gotten any feedback, here's what I'm thinking:

Thursday: I get in around dinner time. Meetup with whoever is in town, get dinner, hit up ice cream and an arcade/barcade/chill somewhere and chat.

Friday: I gotta pickup Binge+1 at 0900 from the airport. Get breakfast somewhere and chill until Booper gets in. Then a bunch of us who are into fountain pens are going to hit Century Pens. Not sure afterwards. I imagine food and arcade/barcade?

Saturday: Get to Keycon early, stay late, slay my presentation to make up for last year's ****ty one that I gave. Get food afterwards and chill.

Sunday:  Get dimsum in Chinatown. Then go to Galloping Ghosts arcade, go to the SHUMP room, stay there all day. Ignore everyone ;)

Monday: Get breakfast with whoever is left, leave around noon time. Maybe get one last meal.

I'll be in the area and will try to make it to the event, but I'm helping out at ACEN for another convention that I'm running, so it depends on time.  most likely 'late' lunch.
