Now I get to legitimately post in this thread! :)

Now I gotta find that Topre yellow Esc that GirlShark WizBro sent across a while back ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. Pretty much from EK - although there are only black and white complete sets for HHKB.

Hey longweight, how did you remove the logo?
I'm also interested to hear how longweight got the logo off.  Can you tell a difference in the texture where the logo used to be?

I've been cleaning up a bunch of older keyboards and noticed Mr. Clean Magic Eraser took off marks very easily, so I would venture a guess that it might take the label off with enough elbow grease.  Also thinking toothpaste or some other type of rubbing compound might do the job without marring the textured surface too much, or making it shiny and smooth.

The thing I like most about topre boards, is PBT. Can't even begin to consider typing on ABS knowing it's going to get shiny. My OCD just refuses to allow for it.

Be prepared for awkward ending as well. Sorry for quiet voice, I had to keep it down.
Here's the video
Again, the difference is mostly in feel, these caps sound different than stock, but only very slightly different. It's amazing how crisp these are though, hard to tell that these are 45g, they definitely feel a lot heavier.

So I kinda did a bad job explaining the repeating key at the end. It's caused by the different profile on these caps combined with the inconsistencies that I was talking about that made the "," key sit lower than all the other keys, and so if you pressed it slowly you would get a repeating key. If you press it again normally, the repetition will stop. But I'm just going to say that these keys feel quite different because of extra stiffness. As much as I would like to type on these all day, I also really want to get an Ergo Clear ErgoDox so I'm probably going to auction these off in FS meaning these caps are going to have to come off to keep them in like-new condition.

Nice rainbow clacky goodness!

Yes!  There's also a black and white pair, and the beer one too.

I saw those too.

Now you need CC backspace to finish the top row.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

All he did was to pull vaguely Topre-compatible keycaps off an old typewriter and put them on his FC660C ;)

It's funny because I thought the caps needed modification and I ended up breaking two keys because of that but they fit right on without any mods.

Why would you not just throw them on first? Did you not have the board at the time?

The thing I like most about topre boards, is PBT. Can't even begin to consider typing on ABS knowing it's going to get shiny. My OCD just refuses to allow for it.

And Topre laughs in your face everyday with ABS spacebars, the key that shines the most/fastest.
