I hate you, Vic.  Thanks... :)

I always get depressed when I see these on sale.  I want one so bad.  This would be my dream keyboard.  Every time they sell, it's like $400 or something.

There was one last week that went for $542 so this looks like the famous follow-up we've seen before. This one actually looks better.

Here's the link to last week's:

http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=380055123048

In both cases no int'l shipping = no bidders from Japan. But I might be a bit paranoid here. :)

Edit:

I also found this keyboard, but I am curious as to know if anyone know what kind of switches are these, I don't believe I have read/encountered these before
The first C64 has a Mitsumi keyboard that uses the same spring placement. IIRC the keycap interface is different though. Can't check that right now.

The way to win is to use jBidWatcher, sniping at an insanely high price... but the problem is, everyone else knows that, too.

If you snipe by hand, open two windows/tabs, and arrange them next to each other (or on different monitors, if that's how you roll.

Window #1 is the auction page.

Window #2 is the confirm bid screen, with the stupid high bid.

Refresh window #1 to update the clock.

As soon as you want to snipe, confirm the bid in window #2.

The closest snipe I've ever pulled off was 4 seconds (bidding on something for my mom.) But that's not my best snipe.

My best snipe was on my cell phone. With a minute to go, the cable went out... so, I fired up Opera Mini, logged in, and just placed the bid.

Got the bid in... with 7 seconds. And I wasn't even really sniping at that point.

Does anybody know if benippon sells the happy hacking keyboard case, and If i remember correctly iMAV posted the pictures of the inside of the case, but I don't remember which post that was if someone could possibly link that.... :D?

Check it (http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=2219&postcount=55).

Hmmm, do you know if benippon carries the case iMAV :D?

If you tell them you want to buy one, they'll likely list it.

I asked them when I bought my HHKB and they said they couldn't provide it. That's why I went with Crescent (which was cheaper anyway).

That was some months ago though, can't hurt to ask again.

Just had another look at the C64. The interface is different, looks similar to Cherry.

SO are any geekhackers bidding on this one?  if so I'll politely bow out.

I'll only bid on it if it stays below $150 USD (yeah, right).  The last few I have seen have been well north of $350.  While I really want one, that's a little too much for me to spend on a keyboard right now, maybe in a few years, though.  I'll probably get another Evolution as a backup and call it quits (until there is another ergonomic, mechanical kb I want to try :) )

I'm really surprised that none of the ergo-layout fans here have tried DataDesk's SmartBoard (http://www.datadesktech.com/desktop_sb.html).

White clicky alps key switches (I believe).  If I was in to the ergo boards, I would DEFINITELY own one.

I think I might try that one eventually.  Although, it kinda looks like a cross of the MS Natural (original) and a keyboard designed for children (with the purple keys).  I was going to buy this one at one time, they are hard to come by.  I think they are in between the first and second series manufacturing-wise, and many stores are out of stock.  These days, I like the look of my Evolution, too.

That's some serious necro posting.  I know the forum can get quiet at times...
