From my knowledge which isn't huge it is mostly for looks but there is also an element of the sound and feel when you bottom out as the keycap will make contact with the plate. I have used both alu and brass and couldn't noticeably tell the difference.

Yes, EVE has done some green before.
I see two, both are on MOON.

Keep in mind, white isn't white. It's matte silver (hence the name, Silver white), that will look lighter than silver ano that has more shine.

I <3 Zeal60, but its not worth it if you don't care about RGB. There are plenty of cheaper options. For me tho it's an easy choice for a purple and brass case, cause new Zeal60s even have a gold USB port. The Zeal60 PCBs are EXTREMELY high quality. I'm guessing the next best quality wise (like well manufactured) is probably the Gon60, and then I don't really know after that.
But I also already have a spare Zeal60 pcb, so is easy choice.

TX60 does look nice. I like the height and sharper angles of this better, but I signed up to buy one of those too :D LZ s x h looks a little rough to be honest. I really need to see some higher quality pics with good lighting.

As for the design i know some people don't like the bottom and text cuz i try to make something different form other boards. So far about 50 orders and if add taiwan community orders it might be around 70.
Although some people know me but i have no reputations here so i really appreciate those people who have been helped me and those who join this gb to make this gb happen. :thumb:

Yup yup, the board looks fantastic, and while the nameplate isn't my favorite (like i said before, it's not bad at all, it just reminds me of the old dare logo lol), i do actually think it looks nice. That's why I had to get the purple one :P (I do wish you offered a dark plate option tho. I'd love a black plate. but i'd still also get brass either way).
I just would probably get a green one too if timing was better.
Edit: To be clear, that's not a complaint, it's just factual with budgets being what they are :p

I like the bottom even more now that I know its based off of calligraphy ;D
Personally i really like the looks of it in combination with the name (ares god of war) even the font is not greek i still like that it's still kinda a destroyed font.
Except war god Ares, Zeus, Poseidon, Apollo, Athene... those gods might show up in my following keyboards programs.

i'd have to read the IC again to be sure
some switchtop cutouts can cause the switches to go out of alignment and not look too hot

again, wait for kenlee to reply, but i believe this uses a 7u spacebar
i recommend ordering the option that give you both spacebar stabs that way you have another set for your next custom, and it's less of a worry
the only issue is if this uses a true 6u spacebar, but i don't believe it does, it looks like a 7u because of the blocker sizes
order 70 switches so you have extras just in case; you'll end up using about 65 of them
rule of thumb is to always order a few more switches than you actually need in case you mess one up, or in case you miscount, i usually tell people to round up to the nearest 10

That's basically where i made it. I can find lots of sets to match purple or blue or red or anything neutral, but the options for green are limited and even the ones that exist won't really fit.

Can I add another plate to my order (brass) My 1st brass plate build fell through after 4 months of waiting :( so i would like the Ares to be my brass plate build. Let me know if that's a option and if so send me a invoice to my PP and I'll pay it as soon as i see it.

Nice work and it's always not too late. I can tell you put many efforts on building the Ares and dolch keyset matches perfectly with the dark gray.
An update that the boards are in cnc process and will be done later in this week. I'll share the pics once I have.

All boards are done with sorting and checking as well as alu plates and weight after cnc. They can fit well and will be polished and transfer to do sandblasting.
The best schedule i get is all finished on end of May or begin of June. Then I'll check and pack every boards, hopefully ship them out on June.

I thought so too, but the lighting is very bright in the factory pic. When I compared it to the prototype pics that had brighter lighting, the color is very very similar looking.

The bottom one is so good. But those are a better green than I expected. Kinda wish I’d gotten both colors now lol.

Few boards (7 sets) came with wrong colors and all extra plates didn't ship. The screws on boards are not the cup head stainless screws I assign, the boards mixed with black and sliver screws.
Eve told me he will check if he have available boards I order and ship them with the correct screws and extra plates this week.
In order to speed up the shipping I will pack the correct screws in a bag and let you replace when you receive. I'm sorry for this trouble for you.
So far i have done about 45 simple packing. Once I receive the remaining stuffs I'll do my best to ship them out asap. As for the exact shipping date I'm sorry i can't give now cuz it depends on when and if I can get the right numbers of remaining stuffs.

Alright I think many gb buyers are waiting for the new update. I received the boards on wednesday and check all the shipments today.
Few boards (7 sets) came with wrong colors and all extra plates didn't ship. The screws on boards are not the cup head stainless screws I assign, the boards mixed with black and sliver screws.
Eve told me he will check if he have available boards I order and ship them with the correct screws and extra plates this week.
In order to speed up the shipping I will pack the correct screws in a bag and let you replace when you receive. I'm sorry for this trouble for you.
So far i have done about 45 simple packing. Once I receive the remaining stuffs I'll do my best to ship them out asap. As for the exact shipping date I'm sorry i can't give now cuz it depends on when and if I can get the right numbers of remaining stuffs.

Mine is scheduled for delivery today. DHL usually comes around 10:30 am! Unfortunately I am leaving for the weekend this evening and probably won't even open the box till I get back.

Lighting was kinda weird. Picture was taken next to a big window and its reflecting the sky (kinda hazy today). The brass is VERY gold in person.

Just got my purple Ares! Simply amazing shade of purple. As much as I love it, I kinda regret not getting the green one as well... If anyone with an army green/brass Ares wants to part ways with theirs PM me. :) Might be down for a straight trade as well, my purple for your green.Thanks for your sharing and I think half has received the packages. I saw few ppl respond the accuracy of colors cuz the lights affect the accuracy of pics i uploaded at check interest period. But it can't be an excuse, I'll review the whole process and will do better in the next new gb.
Just a reminder if possible use the attached stainless screws on plate/case and take the top case first rather than the bottom case to avoid scratching after you take away the screws.

Not sure how it happend, Kenlee checked all boards before shipping so it must have rubbed against something while it was packed up.
Also got the dirty plate and weight but that's not really something care about at this point.
Already contacted kenlee about it and he's helping me out to find a solution. :(

Thanks for mechamode sharing and here is my way for your reference.
1. Mix lemon juice +salt, I used one lemon(depends on what size of vessel you use)
2. Put the weight/plate in the vessel for some minutes.
3. For the serious oxidized parts I'd suggest to take a tag with some (lemon water+salt) to polish.
If you don't have any suitable vessels you also can use rag+(lemon water+salt) as well.
After polishing remember use water or soda water to wash and then dry it.

My friend lost the cord to my soldering iron, so I havent been able to assemble it yet. Also I need to find a keyset to match the purple, since all I have to spare right now is GMK plum
