Wireless keyboard and mouse for TV?
« on: Wed, 09 October 2013, 19:24:51 »
Hey everyone,

So I currently have a a nice 50" plasma TV that is hooked up to a Windows PC that I use to watch stuff. I'm looking to replace a Logitech EX100 bundle (http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823126041) because it's been annoying the heck out of me due to:

1) Terrible reception... keyboard presses and mouse clicks don't always register even though they are 3ft away from the receiver and
2) I have to replace batteries about once every 4 weeks (this point isn't that annoying but it just reminds of issue #1).

Something else that I had to do was snake a 5m USB extension cable along the wall  from my media center PC to my couch because my TV is causing interference with the wireless receiver. This is just plain ugly.

I was thinking of something sexy (or at least what i think is sexy) like the ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth wireless keyboard with Trackpoint (http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/itemdetails/0B47189/460/60AC6A0372B14F5BA7B12F1FF88E33C7) because it will leave a smaller footprint and I'm familiar with the nip- Trackpoint. However, I am concerned about wireless reception. Ideally, I would love to eliminate all the wires.

Geekhackers, what would you suggest?

EDIT: *bump* why no love for media centers?
