At last! :D
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Sorry I'm just now seeing this.  I love how smooth the burgundies are, but I actually did a mod to my yellows whereby I put Aquarium sealant on the inner part of the housing where the slider hits and now it's dead silent on the upswing.  It was a great mod, but I'm still trying to soften the bottoming out, without losing travel distance.

All together with some MX Speeds  :D

Ooh, nice nice nice! Beautiful colorway and details. And how many peeps grasp the sheer wit of big '70s-style SA legends on futuristic mini-keebs? Anyway, way to go—enjoy!

Just won this beauty on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-IBM-Model-F-122-w-Rare-Blue-Sublegends-amp-Soarer-039-s-Converter-/253196343676?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=wxnQQmlyYVzuPUsH8hgLBTj2mcA%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

It's not often that you see a Model F-122 with the sweet blue sublegends, and I had to go for it. Set me back around $200 :( but I still think it was worth it.

You're damn right it is. F-122's in good shape are just going for around that much these days (and will only get pricier). And if you found one with legends you particularly like, it's worth that much more to you.

I don't know if most people realize it, but 122's actually have the most usable (unmodded) F layout. You need a Soarer's-type converter, of course, unlike F-ATs... But aside from the ISO-style Enter, and the up-arrow slightly offset by the unused center key, they require virtually no adjustments to typing habits. And SOLID—buh ha ha!! Something that big and heavy Does... Not... Move. I love mine. Congrats.

2007 Unicomp p/n 2003809-002 (Rev. B) – Model M for GE/Marquette cardiology systems

182048-0

182050-1

This less-common variant has:
  • Some unique legends
  • White tenkey with tiny numerals (rather than the bright-yellow one usually found on Marquette M's)
And though it may be in poor taste to do so, I'm pleased to share that I grabbed it for $60 shipped.  ;?)
