Very nice board! Really like the positioning of the knob :)

Here is my design submission as emailed:

Design name: Macaron Knob (because the top looks like a macaron :D)

Design concept: The design is primarily driven by 2 key elements. Firstly, the unique 2-stepped curved edge of the SKOG which has been incorporated into the knob. Secondly, the curved grooves on the underside of the SKOG which is vertically translated onto the knob to provide grip for turning. If desired, the percent studio logo can be engraved on the top, but I prefer it clean.

Unlikely gregcoder aside, this is by far the one I'm most impressed by.

Man if the Gregcoder was an option I would beg for greg

Anyways, here is my submission. I kept the design simple since the knob is fairly small. This is my first time rendering, so I messed around with some colors and lighting while I was at it.

Glad I saw this contest before deadline and also that this keyboard is coming back!
I submitted the design Amp Dial which I based on the most comfortable type of knobs I tried on old amplifiers. Besides comfortable use I was aiming for it to be simple to produce, so only one colour and not too complicated shapes. The contest triggered my interest in modeling and rendering, so this are my first renders.

I've been really enjoying everybody's submissions and decided to design a fun, colorful knob too.

Design Name: The Jelly Knob

Inspiration: A Jelly Fruit Cake. I was eating one the other day and decided that it'll be fun to see one used as a knob too.

Fun meets Function: Slot cuts were made on the outer circumference of the knob to offer the end-user a form of grip, while the indent on the top of the knob was inserted to offer a "cupping" function to the knob, should the knob ever be used to rotate using one finger. Credits goes to @keystothelaunch above for their tear-drop idea, which led to this knob's inspiration.

Other than that, I'm really excited for this board to come into fruition! :thumb:

I'm no artiste exactly, but I had a lot of fun with coming up with this. All the designs I've seen posted here and in the Discord have been awesome!

Here is my entry I dusted off my tablet for!

I wanted the crown to be a shiny, brilliant metal, and then the top to be a more satin finish (brushed aluminium for example?). I toyed with the idea of adding a simple "pearl" to use as an indicator, but realized I'm not sure exactly what kind of rotary encoder it's going to be. And to be fair it also looked horrendous, ehehe.

Here it is on the keyboard!

Submitted the PRK (Percent Rotary Knob)

I'm not a fan of brand logo on the top, but in this case i find your logo perfect for the knob, where the bottom of the branch of the logo is the pointer of the rotary knob :)  (also consider that the knob is in fact very small)

There are 2 versions of it, the difference is just the flat vs angled leg of the "pointer" (the bottom of the branch)

Hello,

I submitted my design, Lightning Rebolt.

The lightning bolt idea came from reboot's synonyms: restart and renew. A jolt of electricity giving life to a project that's both exciting and nostalgic, new yet familiar.
Lightning Bolt + Reboot = Lightning Rebolt  :D

The one thing I would change and didn't have time to do is the color. I would like it to be that deep red metallic finish shown on the "X" knob in the original post's renders.

The Geekhack community has been an amazing place since I discovered it just a few months ago. Joy is only complete when shared and that's exactly what this community has done for me. In full transparency, I reached out for help on Fiverr to get a more professionally done rendering of my basic MS Paint skills by <ranganaghg> so shout out to him for his help!

Very excited for this GB and best wishes to Percent Studio and all the rotary knob creators! :thumb:

Hello, I submitted my design via email with a longer introduction but due to time constrictions and the UK time just hitting 12AM, I present to you the "Free the nipple" design. It is easily gripped and inspires us with fond memories of old laptops ;) with the nipple mouse in the middle of the keyboard.

First time using 3d software so don't be harsh please.

I wish everyone good luck in the contest as well as good luck to Percent Studios with another crazy design and crazy sales numbers.

I see that delivery of the GB in China ended September 11 and is expected to take 4-6 months until delivery ("under normal circumstances"). Are you planning to wait until you have finished shipping the China GB orders before you open up the international GB? Thanks!

Down with any knob as long as its relatively low profile and sleek.
