Probably, I think they're already working on Sundays anyways because of a shipping deal with Amazon.

They don't do it here.  I believe they were even talking about eliminating Sat. deliveries a few years ago?

Well I don't think this would make USPS disappear.
I just realized my post sounded preachy and political, which was not my intention. I was mostly making a joke about the USPS' general descent into irrelevance as evidenced by the rapid price increases over the past two decades. But I think the uptake in online shopping has begun to make up for the drop in paper correspondence in favor of email. So actually this Sunday move shows that they're willing to adapt.

Alright, yeah I felt it was a bit aggressive but no problem as it was not intended. :)

Yeah I guess you are right. I never really thought of it to be honest. In France there is still the debate whether we want to open shops on Sunday.

Really fast SSD...
(Attachment Link)

Man, I was looking at those. Sooo nice, fast, and reasonably priced.

What mobo are you throwing that on?  Do you know if it supports X58?

I'll be putting it my x79 motherboard. One of the reasons I chose it over some of the other options with nvme is I wasn't 100% about being able to use those (cough SAMSUNG cough) as boot as some of them don't include boot orom in the firmware and often don't mention that in specs thus not working in boards without native nvme support like x99. According to reviews this one does have a boot orom, so should show up in the boot selection. I am still working on decluttering my current ssd before I clone it onto this new SSD card so I haven't installed it yet. I do have older 1156 stuff around with legacy bios, so I can see if it detects on that too.

Thanks. Don't do that for me, I'm sure some googling and asking on the proper forums can answer my question.

I still love my x58 for photoshop work (pretty fast with lots of memory bandwidth) but it's got all 1st gen ssd's in it...along with a WD Raptor lol.  So I will need to do some storage updates before too long.

Thanks!
I'm back.

UPS offers Sunday delivery here in the Cleveland area, at least for Amazon. Can I just say, I hate it.

I manage IT and facilities for my church (it's my full-time job) so I am constantly ordering parts and supplies from Amazon. Used to be, stuff would come during the week, someone in the office would take delivery, and all was well. Now the UPS guy shows up on Sunday morning during a service, and any one of about five hundred people may be around when he comes. That person takes the packages and puts them wherever they happen to think is a good place to put packages. It's almost never actually a good place.

I have tried to opt out of Sunday delivery several times, and I have my Amazon account opted out. But there are so many different people with so many different Amazon accounts ordering stuff delivered to the church, that UPS can't (or doesn't bother to) verify each recipient's Sunday delivery preference.

Call me crazy, but if I accepted delivery for a package addressed ATTN: Joe Schmo, I would somehow notify Joe Schmo that his package came, and I left it at location X. It drives me insane...

Today I got the Noppoo Choc Mini I paid for last week. It has Cherry Black switches, though I was expecting red, and it chatters. Not too happy with my purchase, but the layout seems nice enough.

Gold springs, gold stabs and 10g Krytox 104. Also got 4 springs each of 100g and 78g, and some sweet stickers free of charge, thanks sprit!  :p

I'd be interested to see the benchmarks once you get up and running Ivan  :thumb: that's a sick SSD .

Perhaps I'll do a little mini review and benchmarks a bit later on.

We had an impromptu employee discount tonight so I bought some jackets that I really wanted for quite some time:

Peak Performance Aneto jacket
A stretchy lightweight softshell.

And the real gem of the evening was this bad boy:

The Heli Ghost jacket, a limited edition of the Heli Alpine jacket in all black.
It's a 3-layer Gore-Tex Pro-Shell with all kinds of fancy stuff for freeskiing. But I will be using it In the city.

Best part of it all?
I spent less than €300 for both of them.

Is that a mirror finish steel plate?
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

That is a cheap black plastic plate which had it's picture taken in my reading spot which has a rather bright light above it.

Black plastic.  Not brass.  MX and Alps, not just Alps.
