Ordered 2x commons, 2x modifiers, and 1x pro mods so I can do work/home about the same.

I really just need the standard 87/TKL keycaps and to swap caps and left ctrl, literally everything else in the pro set is a waste for me.

Not slamming the options by any means, its a TON of work to set this up.  Just feel like a lot of people swap left ctrl and caps or just delete caps and replace it with ctrl, but caps is usually a 1.75 key so you get screwed trying to just blank it or similar.

I'm sure plenty of trading will go on here too, in a perfect world there would be a 87 kit with a few common extras like caps/ctrl swap, and then the options begin.  I'm sure the ergo people have a different request, the poker ii legion a different, etc.

Props for setting this up, can't wait to see the keys.

Whelp...looks like we're getting a $2 per kit price drop and nothing further.  Hmm.

Hey everyone, I've talked with Signature Plastics and matt3o, and I'd like to announce a $2 per kit price drop on 10 of the kits. We're happy to secure this for the community and this is the only price drop that we will be able to offer for the remainder of the buy.

For the majority of people I'm guessing that will make little or no difference.

I saved $4 or about 2.7%. Yeah...I was imagining the common kit would have a price drop, so that everybody saves some money. I guess that would take away too much of MD's cut.

$2 price drop on my total order. I never used PMK so I don't know how much better that system worked. I don't mind too much though because I really want this kit :)

RIP Wallet.. Just bought Poker II ISO MX Blue, Pexon 60% aluminium case, sleeved USB and this keycaps set for it:
Show Image

Is there any sets I am missing for a complete sexy look for a Poker II ISO Swedish international layout?

Might look at splitting the ISO set with some of the others here. Could save some money.

I have purchased an ISO set and will only be using one of them so you're welcome to the other. I'm thinking I'll use the icon one so do you want the text enter key?

EDIT: Just reread this and I think you meant you have already purchased one and want to sell it. Ignore this in which case

I don't use ISO. I was just saying some people want to split there's, so you might not have to buy the kit yourself. It is worth checking out.

I really just need the standard 87/TKL keycaps and to swap caps and left ctrl, literally everything else in the pro set is a waste for me.

I'm in the same boat. You could do the RGB mods if you wanted a red control, it will save you $10. I ended up getting the pro mods just incase I ever did an exotic layout in the future.

No, $30 for a common kit of dye-sub PBT is just already an insanely good price.
The gamer kit and egdx were the two most overpriced kits.

No, you don't need special caps. You are fine with the Common Kit, Text or Icon Modifier Kit, ISO Enter and the International Keycap set. And of course all the other fine options like mono legends, gamer WASD caps, RGB modifiers, etc.

@matt3o I gladly see you did some minor “ameliorations” in the 2nd round of Granite (on massdrop).
• the international Alt legends are now in red color instead of blue, excellent!
• the legends “PRINT SCREEN” and “PAUSE BREAK” are now in same font size as the rest of the keys, good!
• 1u enter is now dark grey, thank you!
• backspace is now written “BACK SPACE”, while it was “BACKSPACE” before. Can you explain, please? Is it historically more correct written as two words, or do you like it just better this way, personally?

And, most important question: where can I find a full specification or list of all your improvements?

Wow the prices of the extra kits are so high compared to R1.

Welcome to having an additional middleman in the group buy process. No quantity tier decreases either for anything outside the base kit will certainly make this more expensive than it would be through PMK.

I don't think Matt would get a cut going through PMK. Hard to say he doesn't deserve it though.

I just want to add that --considered the huge success of this drop-- Massdrop has agreed at sharing part of its cut with me (the keyset designer).

Bought all the Icon modifiers, gamer, and numpad (and common).  I'd like to buy a 1-unit Enter (text or icon) from the Specialty kit if anyone is getting that kit but not planning on using that key.  Or I'll trade something from my gamer set!

Yes, for German people who need international kit and ISO enter, and who pay high taxes, the pricing is tough, I would say the pricing is more worthwhile for US citizens.

Unfortunately a no go for me due to EU import fees (massdrop sucks this way).

Would a proxy help?  I can receive your order and ship it over to you if that helps.

We would want to create one in the Classifieds subforum similar to the GMK Spacebar trading thread.  After the orders ship, of course.  Unless people are already trading R1 caps?  If that's the case, we can create one now.

As someone returning from Round 1 to get some extra keys, I've got to say that I'm a little bit disappointed with the prices. My plan was to this time get the Icon Mods, a Pro Kit and the Windows kit and I would have hoped for the prices to at least be comparable to round 1. I'm not complaining, and I'm still going to get the sets I set out for, I just might not get anything extra. I do have to say that splitting a set of Intl keys does sound really tempting, however.

I made a spreadsheet estimating the number of individual sets sold based on the distribution of the sets sold in Round 1, and also comparing the prices of Massdrop to PMK had this second round gone through them. I realize that with Massdrop you can reach a much broader audience, and the buy might not have been as successful going through PMK again, however I thought it would be an interesting comparison nevertheless.

For me, getting only the Icon Mods and Text Pro, I would currently save $7.23 with the PMK prices. However if you take the total cost of all the sets currently sold it's very comparable to Round 1.

Here's the spreadsheet if anyone is interested: clicky
It should be fully editable if you want to add or change anything.

TL;DR: boring spreadsheet stuff

few notes:

- distribution of sets sold in R1 and R2 is not the same
- almost all kits are different from R1 and R2 (some have more keys, others less)
- there's basically no price difference between tiers when you reach 150 (meaning once you got there, that's the best price you can get no matter if you sell 150 or 400)

This reads like there won't be another price break on Massdrop for this GB.  Am I reading too far into it?

There are diminishing savings with more and more units. I'll quote AndrewLekashman from the MD comments thread:

Quote
The delta in cost for the most popular option in the set (Common Kit) is as follows.

If we reach 50 units it is $3.76 cheaper than the 25 unit price.

100 units is $1.88 cheaper than the 50 unit price.

500 units - $1.50 cheaper than the 100 unit price.

750 or more units – $.12 cents cheaper than the 500 unit price.

That’s 12 cents of savings between 500 and 750 units.

So we will probably not see another price drop. Hopefully there's a chance they'll decrease shipping costs since it's higher than usual.

I don't have a list of all updates, sorry.
Can you scribble down some notes about the major updates, please, Matt3o, it doesn’t need to be comprehensive, or exact, just a few notes. :-)

I'm not sure where everyone comparing prices between rounds is getting their info:

final prices of R1 right there.

Yea i'd like to take a moment in this thread so we congratulate Matt3o all together for its second round which is litterally a success, considering there is currently 2645 orders on Massdrop

*claps violently*

I think you just showed the whole world that a properly made set with a interesting specifications (DSA PBT for example, pretty rare) can bring lots of sales. Maybe just because of your actions will we have more inexpensive quality sets group buys on Massdrop soon.

What's your next idea can we have a little scoop in here? ;)

In round 1, 367 common kits were sold for $35. In round 2 we are at 2645 sold common kits for $29,99, shouldn’t the price much be lower for that many sold kits? I would expect something like $19,99 ... Or is there a fault in my reasoning?

It's total kits. Not 2500 common kits. 2500 kits altogether. Each addon counts as a kit.
Also, Andrew already gave us the profit delta explaining there are no further price breaks after 500 of any given set.
Individual price MOQs are for each set from SP. MD gave us the lowest average.
Everyone complaining about the price literally has no idea what they're talking about.
