Finally getting around to posting my desk. I really love this thing.

I ordered this frame in January; it took about six weeks to get (backordered).
After about three months of using it and I rarely lower it. I'll do a whole raid night (7-11) and not lower it.
Frame --> http://www.geekdesk.com/default.asp?contentID=634 (Large/Black)
Desktop and glass were from Ikea.

The Panduit was for the first round of setting this up, I changed it when I semi retired my Asus laptop and went to the desktop. I'll probably just leave it attached for potential future use.

Changed some things around and added some new gear. Topre board is at work and MX green is in transit so they missed the photo-shoot.
Enjoy

Very nice set up. Does that desk turn into a standing desk with the touch of a button?

Doesn't the Wii get in the way of viewing the lower left corner of the right monitor?  Or is that just not a big deal.

feizor  - Yea, there is a video in the original post I quoted.

This is one of my favorite threads. I really like seeing other peoples set ups. For some reason I've always found desks/workstations fascinating.  Even at work when I have to go around to various shops I like looking at how people have their stuff set up.

Love your desk and that your amp and turn table are next to your PC, I wish I had the space to do that!

Probably have mixed thoughts on the splatter design I did on the blackwidow, it is the same UV paint I have used in my machine and glows niceley from the UV LED's I put in my case :)

That's a nice tidy setup :)

Is it always as clean as that?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I wish I could keep mine tidy.  I even moved house end of last year and within a week there was no empty flat surface.  HHKB comes in handy sometimes ...

Loving the colours on your 60%. Also seeing you have the same mouse mat as me it makes me feel so happy I just ordered a Poker II, the extra mouse space will be amazing for playing CS:GO.

That pic of my blackwidow wasn't the best, it was with the flash on my phone. But basically at night with the side of my pc case off it glows quite a lot. It looks cool at LANs

I will be doing something a little more classy with my Poker when it arrives, expect an updated post in here :D

I had my keyboards like your buddy when I played hardcore Counter-Strike 1.6 as well... Had a much bigger keyboard back then, haha. :P

This picture is a view months old, when i got a new wooden table board; my home battlestation. Now there's also a plant on the table, a dia/negative scanner and some pencils. But always beer!

And this is my current setup at work. There has also changed a little bit, but not that much. Missing is a new Wacom tablet, which i use almost half of the day instead of the mouse - but not for painting, just as a mouse alternative.

Ah, yeah that's actually a mid woofer, not an actual subwoofer. It's actually meant to be placed on a desk. If I placed it on the ground, I wouldn't be able to hear the sub.

I'm with madhias, things must be clean and neat or it damages my calm... my desk never has anything on it that is not computer or something connected to computer. Even things that do connect to computer that are not used daily get put away when not in use (well except for printer, but it's on it's own little table under the desk). Though for me things like drinks or snacks generally do not go on the computer desk... there is a table behind me for those kind of things.
I can't stand clutter at all... even around my whole place there is barely anything out, knickknacks to a bare minimum.

Other than boxes from GMK.  ;)

Seriously though, I do love your setup.  It's so clean and just looks really great.

Ain't much:

Nice, have you ever tried putting your sub on the ground? Seems like it would free up a lot of desk space for ya. Just a thought!

Ah, yeah that's actually a mid woofer, not an actual subwoofer. It's actually meant to be placed on a desk. If I placed it on the ground, I wouldn't be able to hear the sub.

Makes perfect sense! Thanks for clarification!

I aspire to this philosophy, but I seem to collect things, and I like to have things around in case I need them one day.

I have a rule that if I don't use something (records and books are exempt) in 6 months I don't need it and I either sell it or give it away to charity shop. I keep collecting things to as much of a minimum as I can as I live in a fairly small space which leaves me little room for lots of unnecessary items. But, I am a digital hoarder! I'm up to 15TB in my server now :))

Interesting use of the tablet. Is it viable and what advantages does it have over the mouse ?

With the advent of the NIB T221 I redid my desk.
(That's also a metal bladed fan)

Post a pic with an 80x24 terminal for reference ;) (I'm not sure too many people know what that monitor is)

Not OP, but I tried to use my Intuos3 for OS/UI usage...

The main difference is that the tablet uses "absolute measurement" while a mouse uses "incremental measurement".
For continuous flow/actions (drawing) tablets work well, but for interrupted flow (move here...click, move there...click) not so much imo.

My conclusion was that "continuous movement devices" (mouse or trackball) work best for "non continuous flow" usage,
but "interruptive motion devices" (lift and tap as with stylus or touchscreens) work best for "continuous flow" usage (drawing, swiping, gestures).

Hope that makes sense ^^;

I mainly use the tablet to relax and use differently my hand. I tried for example also a vertical mouse, but didn't really like it. I gave the mouse to another person, who uses the device now for almost 2-3 years on a daily basis.

Problem with the tablet is - TheSoulhunter described it perfectly - that you have to 'search' the curser, or start somewhere on the screen. The difference with the mouse is, that the curser is where the mouse is (i don't really know how to describe). Also a problem with the tablet is, that clicking exactly is not as easy as with the mouse. In the beginning i moved folders by accident, for example. But i get used to it, and enjoy using a pen instead of the mouse for OS usage, and also applications.
