What are the latest news on Alps plates, the numpad and possible replacement parts? I‘ve been contacted about the replacement parts, where Eason said that they‘re checking with EVE or something in that direction.

At this point, I‘d really like to see, if there‘s somethig coming or not.

i can't speak for ninja but last i spoke to him there was some weirdness going on behind the scenes that's slowing the whole process down

i'm sure he'll update us when he has a proper update

gb will start before i head back to school in the fall, ideally

will also be compatible with jane/mech27 and similar

one layout carbon fiber plate with relief cuts for ultimate feel/sound

That's cool, I hope you've talked to ninjadoc, as he's also been trying to sort out a GB for accessories including alternative plates made of different materials.  I'm personally interested in a plastic plate (polycarb or acrylic).  Is your carbon fiber going to come in one standard color?

black, but there are also 2 color weaves i might consider using

it's gonna be 3000 layout btw, so 6.25x space with offset capslock

Thanks! It has 67g vintage black switches, Olivetti alphas, Electric Bluegaloo mods, and cyan keys from a Dolch add-on kit from Zeal.

Have a dumb question.. It seems like my pcb has an extra top and bottom piece. It looks like it has perforated edges and should be removed. Did people just bend this off or cut it off with something else?

Have any of you fully backlit your Mira? Leeku's plate has individual key LED slots. I'd be interested to see a picture.

Question for the pros... using regular cherry pcb mounted stabs (pretty sure they're cherry originals) with golden wires for the 6.25u spacebar. The thing feels mushy... this is the second keyboard that I make that has a mushy feeling spacebar :( What am I doing wrong?

Using box royals (purple). Also tried a clicky switch from Kailh that seems to have a very strong spring... same thing.

Usually people clip the little legs off the stab inserts, that helps with that mushy feeling

Almost feels like the spring from the switch itself isn't enough to return the key to its fully reset position.

I would start by checking to make sure the stab wire is seated in the stab bases correctly, if not you can yank it into place with some skinny needle nose pliers.

When you take the space bar off and pull on the stab insert a little, does the wire move freely?

I've had what might be a similar problem with Sprit's gold stab wires, I still don't know if it was something wrong with how it was installed, but swapping back to a normal Cherry wire fixed it for me.

Also make sure the wire isn't bent at all.

Word! I don't know why I didn't think of the wire. That's what I used on both keyboards. Will try with a regular one fml.

So my Mira randomly started acting up last week. Key presses continue after the key is let go, they stop once the key is pressed again. I have a feeling it has something to do with the firmware, but I've tried loading the defaults and it didnt fix the issue. Could I possibly be stuck in a layer? Issue followed on another pc as well.

Could it possibly be a sticky switch? Does the behaviour occur if you short the contacts for the key manually, or just when you use the switch?

Reloading the firmware resolved the issue. Had the board built by someone so didn't know it was an option. Thanks for you helps! Now if I could only get the matching number pad within a year or 2...
