When my passion for building, buying and eventually selling mechanical keyboards began, i started looking into different form factors and layouts. After successfully creating an iconic 40% keyboard, the mechmini, i decided it was time to create a more premium version! Mechmini 2! Terms & Conditions
This is a completely 100% custom designed keyboard. We hired community member /u/hineybush (Josh) to model this case and he did a fantastic job. Community member, Pearl GB runner and personal friend u/Koobaczcech (Koobae) also helped dial in some last minute changes such as the QMK reset hole, some plate changes and the Maple leaf engraving. Thanks to them and everyone else this board came out very nice!
Timeline
- Group Buy is open Monday July 31st 2017
- Orders remain open until August 20th
- Order placed with factory on August 21st
- If you require a refund - the refund window is closed August 15th - after August 15th, you will not be able to obtain a refund on your purchase.
- The images on this page are of the prototype. This is the quality of product you will receive. Every keyboard will undergo an inspection for visual and mechanical defects before shipping to you.
- Once keyboards arrive at mechkeysca - please allow 7 to 10 business days for shipping and handling. Orders placed with assembly will be processed after orders without.
- Estimated production completion November 30th. This is an estimate.
- Each keyboard PCB is pre-programmed with our own custom MM2 layout(s). Programming support is available on our discord server https://discord.gg/JxkC94q . Mechkeysca does not offer exchange/return/refund(s) on PCB's that have been programmed incorrectly. Do so at your own risk.

The fabulous GH mod team finally approved the post = )
We've got a few days left however, in spite of this thread taking a while to get out into the wild I think I'm going to be adding a week onto the group buy so everyone can make sure they get their mechmini 2!
We're sitting at a wonderful 40 orders so far, and there are some awesome giveaways @ 50 orders. I hope someone wins a SA hyperfuse set =)

I remember one of the old teaser renders showing an ortho layout with a full 1u grid, but the image above suggests the plate isn't compatible for that. Can you confirm if this is the case?

The ortho plate will allow 100% 1U coverage. Prototype plate was created just a few MM's too narrow.

Unfortunately not of the mechmini 2 - however there are some all over google for mechmini 1 - which is identically the same layout.
