Hullo there geekhack(ers?)! After spending a bit of time on /r/Mechanicalkeyboards, i decided to venture into this wonderland over here!
So, I've currently got a K70 RGB (forgive me fathers, for i have sinned) with MX reds (please forgive my soul). Got this long before i discovered the whole mechanical community, and part of me (particularly my paypal wallet) probably will be wishing that i had just lived in blissful ignorance.
Anyways, I'm really looking forward to getting into some real keyboards in the future. Currently my reds are really giving me a reals sense of buyer's remorse, especially since I don't game that much anymore. I've been looking into getting parts to make a board, though this may not happen for another few months (hey i gotta finish my computer first, and waiting for Vega and buying watercooling stuff ain't cheap). Anyhow, I'm particularly interested in building a board as I love creating things, especially electronics, and have some soldering and Arduino experience (although minor). Currently, I've been looking at some of the cheaper GH60 components on TaoBao, etc., as me being 14 does not help the fact of having some more funds to play around with. What I'll probably end up with is some Gaterons, still to decide which variant, some Chinese GH60, and a cheap plate and case, though I've been thinking about how hard it would be to just make one out of wood. For keycaps, I'm not quite sure yet.
Well anyways, g'day to the forum, and I hope to see you all around!
