Title: Taking apart a Keycool 84...
Post by: 00zeRO on Thu, 29 May 2014, 17:41:05
Does anyone know if there is a thread on here, or would anyone have any pointers on taking one apart?

Even though I'm not looking for it, leave what you did/found for other people to stumble on this thread.

No problem. There are no screws, just clips that are easily popped away by twisting a small flathead screw driver. Once they all pop, it comes apart. As for the plate, it has four tabs where it slides into slots on the PCB. Desolder every switch, then move the twist the tabs to be straight, and it looks like the plate comes off. Now, I did not remove all the keycaps, so there may be a screw or two involved, but I kinda doubt it.
