If alt alphas had a 2.25u/2.75u spacebar that would be great but I understand if they can't be added due to cost. since there's no 40s kit to offload other split bar colors and you cant really have multiple split bar colors and accent bars in a spacebar kit the alt alphas kit might be the best place for them...again if they can be added at all

Honestly, I just have to come clean here. The colors that I have in the IC are not accurate besides WS1 and 7401 C. I double-checked yesterday and felt like a blind fool. Both the blue and gray are way too dark in the physical Pantone. However, the renders are more of what I'm looking for than the colors I had listed. I will be ordering physical Pantone chips to confirm, but my goal is to get the blue close to the same color as the render for the alt alphas (u80) and the alt alphas to come as close as possible to the kit renders.
GB is nowhere close, so I'll be using that time to ensure that the colors will be perfect.
If only it had an R3 1.25 key in the novelties or base set T.T
I appreciate the effort for 40s that has been made but ultimately it still doesn't quite make it.
Kinda curious why 3 40s keys can be added to the base kit but we couldn't just have a 40s mods kit when pricing for the majority is such a concern.
In any case I do really like this set, it will just be disappointing to have to pass on it for compatibility reasons.

Didn't mean for it to come off that way haha. It just isn't the route that I want to take with this set. I prefer the other 2 designs, and this one is completely off the table. As the designer for this set, I was just clarifying and putting my foot down that I am not interested in that approach regardless of the demand of the community. If I did, it'd be more of the "community's" set than mine. Sorry if that first post rubbed off the wrong way!
Edit: Also the novelties would look wrong with white on cool gray sublegends (off-theme)

-In this IC form you mentioned considering removing the grey alphas.
If that was to happen, would you consider offering a reversed "current alt alphas" kit? (It's getting a bit confusing. So Pantone 7401 C cream keys with Pantone 296 C navy letters. Basically just a reversed light version to use with the current modifiers). I generally always liked dark modifiers with light alphas, but maybe it only looks good in my head.
-If the base kit alphas colored is changed (and grey potentially removed all together), would we see more cream keys? Such as cream split Spacebars, maybe more cream novelties (return of the cream arrows (with stars) in the novelties kit?)

With the feedback I've received... I am 91.24% sure I know what I will be doing next with this set. As of now, I don't have the time to render/update on my decision with visuals! Just to clear things up, I don't think I was ever considering cool grey mods haha. IF the alphas get swapped, it'll just be blue/yellow in base kit, and cool gray alphas in a different kit that you buy separately (alphas only). Cool gray mods will 100% not exist.

Running 2 base kits, means higher base kit cost due to lower MOQ.
Considering the split is 70% in favor of the new base kit, I think the decision to run 1 base kit at a higher MOQ and lower price, and the greys as a separate alphas is the more reasonable decision.

I think adding UK support in base kit is pretty strange.
It raises the price for everybody else, for something only an extremely small % of people use.
And if you add UK support in the base kit, then french people might want to add FR support in base kit also etc.

I'd be in, for a full set, but since there are no ISO DE (or any other i18n) caps, they're useless for most of the world. One day I'll designsomething so gorgeous everybody will want it, and then make it an ISO-Nordic/DE/... only GB, deliberately excluding the ANSI and ISO UK folks just to get my revenge. ;)
I'd have some input for a design based on this one that would be less playful but based on some "real" astronomical ideas. Kinda a "stargazer" instead of a "stargazing" set. ;)

What do you mean, "not very inappropriate?" As you just described, even the most prominent keycap sets did not - and I believe will continue to not in the future - integrate different color themed alphas and mods into the base kit, despite expecting a very high demand on both alphas/mods color combinations. It will most likely discourage many (certainly not the majority, depending on the keycap set) from buying the set due to being forced to buy some kits that they did not see as desirable and paying extras for them. You want them all? Good. But I will more likely to be discouraged from buying the set if those gray alphas were integrated and price raised. This is called tradeoff. In the end, OP's gotta decide what's best for most (and I think he's doing the great job), but calling OP's decisions "not very appropriate"....please.

I'm very happy to see this design. But I think the kits are not very appropriate. People who want grey alphas, dark blue mods with novelties and spacebars will cost about $270. :-[ If possible, it is highly desirable that you will consider to put the spacebars and gray alphas into the base kit. :thumb: By the way,It seems that use gmk matrix 01 & gmk oblivion could achieve similar effect,lol.
What do you mean, "not very inappropriate?" As you just described, even the most prominent keycap sets did not - and I believe will continue to not in the future - integrate different color themed alphas and mods into the base kit, despite expecting a very high demand on both alphas/mods color combinations. It will most likely discourage many (certainly not the majority, depending on the keycap set) from buying the set due to being forced to buy some kits that they did not see as desirable and paying extras for them. You want them all? Good. But I will more likely to be discouraged from buying the set if those gray alphas were integrated and price raised. This is called tradeoff. In the end, OP's gotta decide what's best for most (and I think he's doing the great job), but calling OP's decisions "not very appropriate"....please.

That will likely not be happening! Certain vendors have had not the best experiences with stem issues on metal Enters. Despite the manu not being THOK and they could be completely fine, for the sake of my vendor's custom service inbox, this set will not be having a metal Enter key. Sorry :(

This is likely to be my first group buy— as in I'm definitely buying, just not sure if I'll end up getting anything else before July… As I'm new to this, will all of of the collabs (deskmats/artisans/etc) go on sale the same day or at different times? Need to plan my finances accordingly!

however, the quotes are not as insane as I thought they were going to be, so the grey alphas will be staying, BUT if you are one of the people who like the grey alphas, it will definitely need the most help out of all of the kits.

A bit disappointed in these prices.
Maybe I am confusing Stargaze with another IC, but I felt the goal was a high MOQ.
This feels like pricing for 500 MOQ, which I am fairly confident this set will at least double if not triple it at the minimum.
But oh well I will still pick up basically everything, maybe even the Ikki despite me generally not having interest in entry level boards.

- sizing the novelties correctly and measuring, I BELIEVE that although a lot of the novelties tread a thin line, only two were required to be changed. Base kit - REMOVED ISO accented ISO enter, a few keys that I accidentally had duplicated (SORRY ISO-USERS, BUT I did add UK-iso enter novelty... a few updates ago...)

Space - HUGE change, smaller kitting, accent spacebars for 6.25u and 7u only + added accent arrows due to high demand
Alt Alphas - fixed errors from last update (nothing drastic)
Considerations:
Originally, I wanted to 2u, 2.25u, and 2.75u to base kit AND UK-iso and have a stacked base kit; however, due to the custom colors required for this set, I would rather prefer not to have a $140+ base kit (estimate).

Accent spacebars (2u, 2.25u, 2.75u?) MAYBE (depends, redo or do the UPDATED IC form if you want this, but obviously cost is going to play a huge factor)

True, the cost is pretty standard for GMK sets, and honestly, even the big names struggle to have a good prediction. I've said it numerous times throughout the IC regarding the use of custom colors, so it's nothing new to learn!
Also, the price is pretty on par with plenty of recent sets especially with GMK's price increase (minus Dixie/NK/DROP who are consistently aiming for 1k MOQ or more).

For me personally I think I would prefer the top design with the 2 shooting stars but maybe with the smaller density but bigger icons of stars from the bottom one.
This is not something I am 100% sure how I feel about, tbh I like both. But I'm just curious if this was intentional or not.
And I guess it depends if they can make the small icons detailed enough on the final product.

I agree with you. I chose top design because of the shooting stars, but I also prefer the smaller density and bigger stars from the bottom one.
A fusion between the two would be the best outcome IMO.

ive noticed in the rows for vendors (for me, dailyclack) the artisans are listed in the prices too. does this mean the artisans will be carried on that vendors site, or is that just the conversion price and I will have to purchase them from thok/rama directly? (first time hopefully purchasing artisans!)
Any updates on when the GB for the IKKI68 Stargaze keyboard will be launched?Worked through some final details with Wuque yesterday. Most likely will start in 1-2 weeks so that vendors have time to prepare. But I don’t have an exact date yet so there is no proper announcement (yet).
