[SOLD] IBM 1390572 Model M Battleship 39.99 shipped
« on: Wed, 20 December 2017, 12:23:28 »
I found an amazing deal on a battleship and it kills me to post it on here because i really wanted it but i'll be away from home for Christmas  :-[ so at the very least i hope someone who will truly enjoy it for what it is ends up with it

https://www.ebay.com/itm/IBM-1390572-AT-Keyboard-Tested/132416677267?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

if you'd rather not have to open it up and put a teensy in it buying one of these will have it up and running in no time

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Soarers-Converter-Adapter-for-IBM-Model-F122-M122-Keyboard-Remapping-Macros/282575692501?epid=1773591503&hash=item41cad2e2d5:g:A4sAAOSwY45USZdd:sc:USPSFirstClass!97005!US!-1

The cost of both the keyboard and adaptor together is less than what these usually go for so i think its an amazing deal

A Cmd15 keycap will be difficult to acquire.

I wonder how they tested it.

Reminds me, I really have to get my M122 finished at some stage ...
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Unicomp for the keycap?

That was most definitely a steal at $40 shipped.   I wonder if someone here got it.
