good cheap 40% keyboard?
« on: Sun, 30 July 2023, 03:34:09 »
is there any cheap 40% keyboards because I cant seem to find any for cheap. I found a couple kits on AliExpress, but I want to see some alternatives. I really just want to try out the layout, and wont be using it as a main keyboard so I don't want to spend much money. I also want make a youtube video about the layout as it seems interesting. If you have some 40% keyboard laying around that you just don't need, tell me.

If you are able to solder, and you're ok with a through-hole kit, you might be interested in the Mercutio from MechWild.

The Monorail from Kiser Designs or the Coffeevan from CBKBD are both great options. They're both Minivan/V4N layouts which is about as standard as you get for a 40%. There's lots of case options for both if you ever want to put the PCB in something else in the future. Both have got regional vendors too.

Otherwise the Romeo is available from quite a few shops and the Mercurito as mentioned above are both quite good options.
