i swear if they keep it up im just not taking their order for not following directions. i hate having to PM them back when its not needed

I experienced this with my group buy as well.  Annoying, but unavoidable it seems.

These have grown too cheap since I ordered. I need to bump my order to 10 to make the shipping worthwhile. I'll follow up with a PM. :)

Also, +1 to the modifiers in the future, mix it up a bit.

somebody should have warned me lol.

actually it hasn't been that bad. maybe ~10 ppl and all were quick to reply when asked.

but still, if 50+ can get it right then it was obviously easy to understand what i wanted

Its cute that you guys think the lacking PM information is bad. I had 800 pm's by the end of my failed buy and all of those were people ordering more, combining orders, or asking for keycaps that I hadn't ever heard of. The problem with shipping is simple: charge one price; that is what I did.

problem with that is that somebody will get over charged while others will get under charged.

i dont want angry PMs. i rather be the one complaining :)

and you did a hell of a job keeping that group buy organized and up to date.

It is actually way easier than I care to admit.

I took my 32" tv and made it my main monitor, had my excel spreadsheet (Which automatically tallied prices by count and created a mini-invoice that broke it all down) and then I would spend about an hour a day cycling through the PM's in order to keep up to date. Most of the other work was just in promoting the buy and keeping in contact with Melissa and that was easily done via my phone while at school.

I used to do this, and people didn't do it

So I changed it to this

That still didn't work, so I decided on this

It still doesn't work, people manage to still manage to not put ANYTHING and I have to hunt for the people through PMs

Refer to above, it doesn't work :P

I missed this when I sent payment today because I was just reading the email notification which included the information I needed and I was already logged into Paypal ready to send money. Wish the PM notification email was formatted better.

more clearly: i have no interest in this group buy; please withdraw my order. i am sending an explicit PM to this effect as well. thanks duder.

on a serious note, if you don't want to have to sort through a million pms, automate the process. if people who aren't super cranky want help doing this, it would probably take me about an hour and i'd be happy to do it (and not in perl either, goddamn)

i offered to pay you money for something i don't really need or even want all that much and i got back a page of *****ing because i didn't say the word standard somewhere, even though i (had to!) send two separate and distinct messages to different places to officially offer to pay you money for something i don't want or need, AND one of those messages that you obviously saw implied that i wanted standard.

7bit tried that with r4. It's "easy" to automate, but everyone complains about it being too complicated.

the right want to do it is to write a simple webapp that hooks into a sqlite db somewhere. the problem with 7bit's thinger is that a) it seems a bit ugly and inflexible (obviously i'm inferring here, but from conversations with him it seems pretty difficult for him to reinterpret results and b) the input is free-form, there's no front-end UI.

no mkp totally deserved it, but seeing DRG choke AGAIN with a huge title on the line is, shall we say, "off-putting". i think whoever said mkp passed on the curse is right.

We'll if the curse is real this Saturday!

But Genius looks to be good form for once since the beta, and he seems to have DRG's number from what we saw in the group stages.
