Damn them. So I'm contemplating buying a second TE board. They're on sale, but still no software remapping.
Do I wait to see if this software every materializes?

There's also the TE ANSI w/ reds on sale for $229. Not as good a deal, but they're "red" and supposedly in stock...

$179 is a pretty nice price, they should stay this way all the time. :)

The status of the soft linear one is still a bit weird: no navigating to it (that I can see), it can only be found by searching...

Well, since you've successfully been using one without the official software I'd say yes. The price is nice now, and if this is your main keyboard having one at home and one at work is almost a must IMO.

Update: Ouch, did you see the expected ship date? Delivery date varies per product and is currently scheduled for mid May 2012.

Keyboard: Kinesis Ergo Advantage (two LF editions with red Cherry switches, one regular with brown switches)
Keyboard layout: basically Colemak, with some remapping to end up with my custom Kinesis Advantage layout
Typing test profiles: typeracer.com / hi-games.net / keybr.com

So Red's are just a lighter black?

I'd love to have Reds if there was a 109 version. I'm very happy with my remapped layout on the 109.

Reds are technically a lighter black, but since they use the same spring as browns, they actually feel much closer to brown but without the bump. TE used to have a blank 109 w/ reds available, but apparently not any more. I really like my 104 w/ reds.

I *love* reds for gaming, and am pretty indifferent between reds/browns for typing. I hate Cherry blacks.

I ended up ordering another 109 blank with browns. Red's may be nice, but saving $50 is nicer.

$50 is nothing if this becomes the daily driver!  Too bad there isn't a blues. And are those SP keycaps??  It looks like DCS profile to me.

Here's a long shot, but is there anybody who bought a 104 blank and would prefer non-blank? Or if not, would anybody who's planning to order a 104 non-blank be willing to order a blank instead and then trade keycaps with me? I'd pay for shipping both ways, preferably you are in North America though.
