Title: ErgoDox case for 80 keys
Post by: plainbriny on Sun, 08 December 2013, 05:21:10
I am thinking of building one 80-key ergodox, but the current Litster design doesen't fit 80 keys.
So I modified layer 3 of Litster's design.

Not sure whether they will fit, any comments?

What was your procedure for replacing the current single key with the two newer ones? The best way IMO is two make diagonals ont he current cutout to get the center and then draw up a rectangle for 2x key, then place two square for 1x keys and then place cutouts in the centers of these squares.

I don't know if you have ever used Github, but I highly recommend using it for these sorts of things so we can all merge our changes and to not fragment the design and evolution.

If you are using Windows the easiest client I know of is https://code.google.com/p/tortoisegit/

The original Lister case and ErgoDOX PCB can be found at:
https://github.com/bishboria/ErgoDox

My changes can be found at:
https://github.com/jalli/ErgoDox

Ideally anyone making changes should fork the original and then we can merge between ourselves as needed, if you create a new layer option for the 80 key it would be simple to maintain both versions going forward.

Thanks, I have no idea there's a github repository for the case/PCB.  :-[ Will see what I can do with it.
Later I might need to modify the firmware as well...
