Alright, I'm super glad I did a prototype.
Problems:
1. Cherry spacebar stabilizers didn't fit
2. Cherry stabilizers are tight
3. Costar stabilizers fit in the slots but don't work. The legs of the black part of the stabilizing system are deflecting inward not allowing the white insert to freely move.
4. Cannot open switch tops on stabilized keys (except the spacebar)
Solutions
1. alixinhzai said to flip the cherry style mount on the spacebar location when he passed me the design, I forgot, it's upside down. It will be fixed before sending to the cutter
2. I'm going to be adding a few thousandths on the left and right of the cherry stabilizer cutout
3. Nothing, it's due to plate thickness. You'll have to sand need the costar stabilizer cutouts if you want them to work. Sanding around the mounts should stop the deflection.
4. Nothing, I don't feel comfortable taking away anymore support from the switches
Other than that, it's a nice plate. Switches are nice and tight, it makes the poker feel much more solid and adds ~1/3lbs to the total weight.
**waits for alaricljs to comment ^___^
I got the revised plates today:
#1: has been fixed and is working with Cherry & Costar on all places where there is a stabilizer
#2: I didn't do anything, they are just a tight fit and you may need to sand the cherry stabilizers a bit or push down hard enough to shear away some plastic to make it fit.
#3: Costar worked great. I don't have a caliper with me right now to check thicknesses but it looks like he sanded both sides by mistake. Your plate may vary.
#4 Not fixed and not going to. If you want to modify them yourself more power to you. But I'm not changing them.
I also flip the DWG I send him so he would be cutting the bottom of the plate and sanding the top of the plate. It's now more of the #4 finish rather than a 2B finish. There are some spots that the sander missed but it's nothing a bit of sand paper can't fix.
