I really like the way the reversed black on beige looks, but the symbols on number row 

Will for sure get the Mod & Color packs. Still not sure about the full set.

I know it's supposed to be the "original bitshift international layout", but since I still don't have the number row memorized those symbols would drive me crazy.

I can request for U9 (same as in the full set) to be one of the additional spacebar colors. How many of them we may end up with may be unpredictable though.

I don't have any BSP stuff, but closest matching GMK color to my original HASRO PBT dyesubs is CP which isn't perfect. Same as above can go for that color.

You could always load up a custom keymap that matches the legends

It's a bit frustrating to finally see a GMK set with HHKB support only to see that we've lost *normal-layout* support.  I will think long and hard about this and if I decide not to get the base set I will probably still get the mod pack and/or the color pack.

What's considered "normal-layout" support?

Ivan will probably be sorting the spacebars but he has no control over the amount made in each color, he can only ask for a total number in each size. The reason for this is because they agreed to use leftover plastic to make them up, that's why we're not required to meet MOQ on them.

There may be some available that match the spacebars in the full set but again they'd probably be using leftover granular so there is no way of knowing how many.

As in you won't get one of every color. There was a majority of certain colors last time. Cyan and pink 6.25x spacebars had like 150 a pop, then white and black had like 25 each.

No, GMK caps are always doubleshot.

Spacebars, it will all depend on what we get and in what distribution. If we got 8 colors in even distribution and you got 4 orders it be possible to get all of them. I have no way of knowing until AFTER they are made.

Regarding the Esc key in the mods pack... it was done on purpose with different color. Consider it as a novelty key bonus item.

LOVE the colours, even though you're using Gatsie's Sh1te Logo it still is a superb rendition of 1985 and I need this one badly.  I was lucky because someone here notified me via PM to your Group Buy which I have to thank because I would of went into 2015 without ever knowing anything about this special kit.

I sure hope this one goes through to the factory in the new year, have some keyboards that would be elevated beyond stylish, with these installed.

I'm not sure if it's too late to request something, but would it be possible to add:
1x R2 1u "-" key
1x R3 1u "+" key

So I can actually do a full 1800 layout with a BSP set

Well, the point of it would be so that a full G8X-1800 layout can be achieved, using a BSP set.

That said, I understand your concerns, and it is definitely not something everyone would want, and would add costs.

Personally, I would be using them to use a BSP set for a Lightsaver layout, so I can squeeze an extra key in there, while having a complete/authentic G8X-1800 layout



(This one is missing the proper arrow key layout, but the numpad is the focus! Also the + and - key locations are wrong, should be swapped)


While Cherry G8X-1800 will already have these keys, I assume that a large number of people will be using the mod pack with BSP Cyrillic, Peacock, Olivetti, etc sets, and would appreciate having these two extra keys.

I feel that the purpose of this mod pack is to allow people to complete BSP sets, and to an extent, it already includes enough keys to covers 99% of what people would want to use it with, the 1% missing being the 1800 layout.

I will be mixing BSP PBT and GMK ABS (I care more about profile than about feels) sets haha... no idea how it'll turn out, but that's the plan

What I'm saying is.. You could achieve the same result with a Cherry 1800 set, since the keys are identical to GMK ones. Same legends, same profile, same keys. The only difference will be a slight difference in colour because GMK obviously cannot acquire the exact same plastics.
