It turns out to about $100 for just the PCB for me thanks to shipping and taxes, so I can't join in on this one. Really bummed out 'cause this is pretty much the best layout I can design for myself. On the bright side, I do have an XD60 incoming, which I'll make a pretty similar and solid build with!

Hoping to see some cool improvements and a better price in R2! ;)

Anyone interested in a case, Sentraq has some in stock.  I'm assuming these will work evangs?

https://sentraq.com/collections/frontpage/products/60-acrylic-case

https://sentraq.com/collections/frontpage/products/60-aluminum-milled-case

Any standard 60% case should work. I've confirmed the Tex case as well as the Taobao hi profile case that was on MD recently as those are what I have.

Yup, it really is quite expensive and as much as I'd love to get a 60% keyboard with this layout I really don't know if I can justify paying that much. Is there any reason why this is so expensive? Am I missing something?

I *suspect* it may be because it's getting manufactured in the US. The minivan (also a enavgs project) cost increased significantly when production moved stateside, but quality also jumped. So, if my suspicion is correct, we should get a mighty fine product for out money.

Everything is being manufactured in the US, as well as it being a collaboration. Making the price bump up slightly so we both can receive decent profit for our hard work. Hope this clarifies any confusion.

Edit: As well as fast lead times and genuine cherry stabs. Most people include rattley knock offs.

Joined the group buy! Really excited, as this will be my first custom board  :) Couldn't pass this one as it is so versatile. ISO, arrow keys and split space in one 60%? Count me in :P

Do you mind sharing the manufacturer info? I've been using DirtyPCBs and they're okay but I blow 1/2the total cost on shipping. Also, think global buy local and all that.

Are there any components on the top side of the PCB? I'd like to print a 5mm thick plate for this thing.

Just curious - does a case like this do anything if there isn't any lighting?  Other than being a case, that is.

Cool, thanks!  It is a good price... but think I'm going with the metal sentraq one in that case.

Yeah, there's no underglow for this round. But you can always flip the leds on the underside for pseudo under glow ;)

Flipping the LEDs.. interesting idea. Could get away with just soldering 6-8 LEDs for underglow. I never utilize in switch LEDs.. too much additional soldering for no benefit to me.

ok, so it's super easy. install the underglow leds FIRST. I did this on an already assembled board and had to desolder some switches to put the leds in. put the leds in from the bottom obviously. trim the leds as close as you can get them. there is a tiny bit of room under the switch but not a lot so they need to be nearly flush otherwise they will make the switch angled. solder in the leds!

I know it's probably not top priority of the desired features for those that don't play games, but do these community built projects generally include support for high polling rates and low latency input?  The Deskthority wiki page for Easy AVR lists 1000hz polling rate under features and also lists ATmega32U4 amongst the supported hardware.

I'll ask evan if this is just a standard feature of an atmega 32u4 then it's probably supported. But I'll double check

If I missed a reply earlier in the thread, my apologies, but is there confirmation either way on this?

When the GB for the keys is running, will it be for the keys alone or might there be a second chance to buy the PCB kit again? Thanks!

The polling interval can be changed in TMK.
