Do they exist? I know Rippy had a prototype clack what was alps, have there been any skulls or blanks released with Alps stem?

If there are, there are probably only a handful that have been stashed away by collectors.

There's a possibility that Clack's facilities can't cope with making caps that survive Alps stem insertion/removal.  I have never fondled a CC tho, so I don't know what sort of plastic it is.

They do exist, Ripster has one and CC told me via PM a while back that he was going to release them. It seems that it has become Soontm

I wasn't arguing against their existence (altho I didn't really say as much).  I was just pointing out that while prototypes may exist there was the possibility that Clickclack wouldn't move forward with them if they were too frail.  He's a bit of a perfectionist and knows people will insert/remove his caps quite a bit.  Possibly more than they actually get pressed as a functional item.

True. I'm not sure if his current casting material would take the stress on such a small stem.

Hi kmiller8,

Yes indeed there have been. The reason you don't see much of them around is that the interest was really low for them when compared to MX, T, and M.

Initially I thought that interest for ALPS compatible work would exceed model M and Topre interest. But that was not the case. It's not forgotten however, it's just further behind since I have to prioritize. You get the gist I'm sure. Regarding stress on the plastic, nothing noteworthy. Reliable and sturdy much like my other work. =)
Thanks for this thread, maybe interest will perk up a bit.

It was just a matter of substantially less interest unfortunately.
Hope that clears up some info. Speaking of which, I really, really, really need to update my FAQ section. lulz

Considering all the Alps customs on the way, I assume interest will perk up quite a bit.

I want to say people without alps boards. But who am I kidding. People would buy rubber dome caps if they were clacks.

Also you should check your PM's, there's a spooky ghost waiting in there.
