Rainbow keycaps
« on: Thu, 15 January 2015, 10:06:38 »
Hey! I am looking for a rainbow keycap set for my Poker II. ;D Are there any that have transparent legends so the backlight shines through? I haven't found any so far.

If I have to go non-backlit caps, I was checking out two PBT sets, one from Cherry, the other from Keycool, is there a reason to choose one over the other?

I don't recall having seen any backlight-friendly rainbow sets :(

From Cherry they are probably dyesub ABS, from KeyCool they could be anything (link would help).

Generally, though, people prefer Cherry over many other brands.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Aren't the POM jelly caps relatively backlight friendly?

As for the Keycool caps, I have a set of their rainbow caps, and they are a decent quality, even if the legends are a bit ****ty.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I have a set of the keycool rainbow ones too, they're pretty nice I would recommend them!
