There have been a few pictures of marble rests on kbdmania and otd recently. Seems they just go to a place that sells marble and buy a piece in the size they want. There isn't some keyboard shop that sells them or at least I don't think there is.

I thought about going to this shop up the street that's makes countertops and having that done. It's not horribly expensive either since it so small they would use a scrap piece left over from a countertop or something.

The marble wrist wrest was a group buy held recently. Don't remember price but it went for a pretty penny because..well Italian marble is expensive.

There was group buy for the marble wrist rest.
Price was $40(40000won in Korean 'won') (including set of rubber and silicon bumpons)
There were three different width for mini-keyboard, tenkey-less, and full keyboard.
(Mine is mini-keyboard size. As I know, it may perfectly fit to HHKB.)

Ps. Link above (posted by Photekq) is not the same one I have. It is just small piece of 'raw' material, but the group-bought products has filleted edge and polished surface.

Group buy held in Korea was (as far as I Know) just once happened.
I cannot guarantee you can purchase it in same or similar price.
I also thought the price of marble was cheaper than expected, which means the group buy holder may have kind of  special route, or was just special case.

Anyway, the quality of the marble is surprisingly good, and intuitively feel like the normal price of the material may be much higher than we bought.  :)

Not sure if this matters but I have been working with tile, marble, granite for the past 14 years. I on occasion make custom shampoo shelves of stone for the customers, sometimes seat tops out of marble. Making a wrist rest would be no problem, and I can cut them with my wetsaw to accommodate, 104 size,TKL,60%, IBM 101.104,122 etc etc etc. Once when all are done I just have to round the edges which is done in 3 steps, grinding stone, then 120 grid sand paper, then 300 grid sand paper, then 500 grid sand paper and then 600 grid sand paper ( last one is done if needed me to match the stock polish of the stone)

Proof is in the pudding, let me know if anyone is interested I'll make my facebook page available for all and you can all see the pics of my work. If this ever happens, I will have to look around for the tile supliers  and see what they have available, we would most likely need  20" marble tiles and like I said I will have to cut and polish and round them, we can save  more than just getting them precut and prepolished, offcourse I don't want to do all of that for nothing, got to make some honey too. Shipping has to be done very carefull, marble is is fragile.

first lets see how many people are interested, then I'll have to go and take some pics of marble that's available ( this way you guys can choose which one you like), might have to order some sand paper from bragstonbrags.

I can see me having no problem making them in price range of 40-50 bucks. But shipping as in packing the item has to be figured out to make sure it wont break. Packaging ideas would be welcomed ofcourse.

I believe I have some samples of travertine in my warehouse, I have to order some sand paper disc for my variable speed grinder, once when I make one I will post pics in here. Also I have bunch of rounded small self adhesive stoppers that I used on my TG3, I will use them on the wrist rest that I will make.

I'll make one in TKL size since that's most favorable here. I believe the thickness of the travertine that I have in the warehouse is between 1/2"-3/4". Once when I make it I will post in DIY section and then if people want I can have it mailed out for trial, going from one person to another. Thanks for posting, it reminds me of ordering the pads cause I'm out of 80,120,240 grid sand papers.

BTW I'm not going to go and be buying expensive marble pieces just for this, this is just testing thing of how the wrist rest will look like, and later after people tried it out and if liked it we can go shopping for marble if GB does happens.

Thanks!  I have a Rain Drop set and a DS Classic beige/white in the mail now :)  I'll try them out on this board.

Not a huge fan of the spring weight, but they are okay.  I ordered some 45g springs as well.

Question, anyone know if the KMACs are reprogrammable?  I don't like where the 'Delete' key is on the mini.  I've created an autohotkey script to change this.  Just wondering of there is a native way to change this.  I'll post more pictures this week to make up for the threadcrapping :)

-Tad

Edit:  Found out my Raindrop set doesn't come with a winkeyless kit.  Looks like I'll need to find one, or put the set on my Poker.
