Some news..

TrueCustom designed a new PCB for the Lightsaver V2, so it'll take about a month longer to be ready.  Around end of May.

It'll support more layout options.  Also the 15 limit has been increased to 30.  Actually I have 30 sets ordered right now. :D Perfect if you guys plan on staying in.

This layout is good and a classic cheap G80-1800 keycap set is perfect fit.

Here is my plan.

(Sorry for my bad cut and paste drawing.)

Many classic beige 1800 keycaps from taobao price at around 200 - 300 CNY. Some sets are very good in condition but it depends on luck.

I like the winkeyless 1800 layout.  Still no chance for pcb only?

Probably I will go with the granite set(the gb Matt3o held at sp), coz that's the only set that I can find that comes with colemak layout and kits for different layout options. But it's so expansive for 1 set with lots of kits, costs me more than $180...I haven't even purchased sip sockets, switches, springs, lube kit, leds, usb cable. My wallet is going to cry.

Figured.  Was fence sitting until the 1800 layout dropped.  Probably too late to the party though.  Ah well.

Did I make that 20 from the US? Hope so, this look amazing. I presume we can still use the other non-8100 layout.

Has anyone asked him if he'd consider modifying the plate design to allow switch removal or better yet do it for him? Not a show-stopper though.

I could help with proxying orders but after the Phantom situation I'd only want mine proxied if we have full confidence the person doing it is going to follow through.

I will say, I like the original case better.  I like the smooth sides rather than the stepped sides.  However, I'm not paying sherry anything, and I still like the new version.  :)

WTB just the new PCB (and plate) if possible!

I plan on using it with standoffs flat on a desk.

The proposed solution was to use the pcb and plate bare, without a case. Which isn't a very satisfying solution for some folks. I also believe the reply was comedic, but who knows.

That 1800 layout is really cool. I'm tempted to try it but windows-E windows-R and windows-B (as of windows 8 ) are some of my most common keystrokes. Maybe I can try moving left control to caps lock and use that control as a winkey.

That's what I do with my winkeyless boards. I call it the "soft spoken" layout since there's no caps lock key at all.

Shouldn't there be a numpad option with 2u "+" and 2u "Enter" key on the right side?

You'd have to choose numpad option 2 (b) and numpad option 3 (b)

Price is in OP, $70.  You can fill in the form if you want assembly and is in the 30 list.
