Just want to clarify - I was the 14th to submit the form, am I allowed to change the options?
If you have any changes, just PM me.I was told 2 months estimated time of shipping, but that was what I was told for Orion, so just FYI.I'll post a public sheet soon for everyone to see their orders.

Quote from: tadbitnerdy on Wed, 13 January 2016, 11:23:41In! I still haven't built my Lightsaver v2, or my Octogon v1. I might need to sell these But what if you just end up not building your Octagon v2? I have considered selling my v1, but I love the little "Octagon" nameplate too much. It'll be nice to compare the feels between the case-mounted PCB of the v1 versus the top bezel-mounted PCB of the v2 as well. The v1 is just a solid hunk of aluminum, which is awesome in itself. There is as much charm over its simplicity as there is over the v2's complexity. The fact the Octagon v1 was the first RGB duck board, too, is something I find awesome.

Is there any possibility that late comers(?) will have a shot on this now? I made a order but not sure what place I came in. The doc haven't been updated yet. Somewhere around 75 I guess.Or is it going to be like the first version 30+30?

I knew the pictures looked somehow "wrong" but couldn't put my finger on what it was missing. The badge!

Not sure whether that was all the interest or if 60 was the cut off point, best of luck.

I'm gonna have the silver and grey aluminum Octagon v2 as the main setup and I'm going to use the Duck feet for the carbon fiber case I plan on buying for my second Alps Eagle. Half tempted to add the acrylic flat bottom, but I think I will be happy with just one.
Having an aluminum bottom as my main option, also with a duck feet.So should i get a Acrylic bottom or flat acrylic bottom with chrome feet as the extra bottom? and what is the difference between chrome feet and duck feet ? or they are one? Thanks

Thanks The Duck feet are intended for use with the flat acrylic bottom as a more elegant option as opposed to the normal conical feet. That's all, really. They aren't meant to go on the other bottom housings.

Weird question, but does anyone know if the Orion V2 bottom would fit on the Octagon V2?
Hopefully this will arrive before I have to move

Can anyone explain the difference in feel between the 2 plates? I currently have the aluminum as I assume a softer metal will sound less pingy.
Jokes aside, a steel plate will be heavier, more rigid, and louder (in that vibrations travel much more easily through steel). Aluminum is lighter, softer, flexier, but dampens vibrations better. Steel plates are notorious for "pinging", where you hear the "sproing" of the spring after an upstroke. I've never had that issue with an alu or plastic plate.
I picked aluminium as I find the stainless steel ones easier to scratch. The aluminium ones have a sandblasted finish while the steel ones have a brushed finish. I hope this helps!
i'll let those with personal knowledge of differences weigh in, as I can only comment based on what i've read --but apparently:tactile switches --> aluminum platelinear switches --> steel plate the reason I see the most pop up is that the rigidity of metals play a role in how it feels (e.g., how much flex you get if you bottom out) and there was some mention of how sounds resonate no clue though, it may be so minor that one may hardly noticesomeone guide us!
KetckhyKech you basically got the right idea. However I can guarantee you that the board itself will already weight a ton so opting for a steel plate just for the added weight isn't really a good idea. A steel plate has the least amount of flex to it, which is what you want for linear switches to have a fluid motion of each key press without any additional "feedback".An aluminum plate gives a slight bit of flex to it, which is good for tactile switches to help make the tactility more pronounced. Aluminum tends to give the best sound in terms of tactile switches. An acrylic plate gives a fair bit of flex, it is best in terms of tactility and also my favorite. I have an acrylic plate with 65g Purple Zealios for my Orion v2 and the typing experience is heavenly. The sound is very muted though with the acrylic plate but another benefit is the even distribution of backlight.
Just ordered.Hope it's still available...
Quote from: tkpresent on Fri, 15 January 2016, 14:22:54Just ordered.Hope it's still available...There is a chance that there could be a third batch but I'm assuming it would have to be another 40 orders for that to happen.
I reckon not every one ordered will pay their invoice so some people who are back in the list could get into the first batch I'd think
So glad that I'm in. But my wallet isn't. This + the last round of Granite on Massdrop is gonna be expensive.
anyone have any opinions on which case color would look best with the hyperfuse set? Blue-Grey or silver?
