update here,we are adding two colors now. Orange and deep blue for T0mb3ry's Yuri IC.
Have you got any colour samples?

I wish there was a full board sample of the dark grey. Deciding on colours is hard!

Yey!  :)

I am sitting on the fence. How are the chances you can share with us the svg file for the plate (switchplate)?
I'd like to make a custom plate from materials i want and with switch top removal cutouts.
I think we can share the file for the plate, but i am not sure it's svg file. I'll talk to Dr.D and get back to you.

That would be very nice, if you can share those with us. I mean i can reverse engineer the plate its not that hard, however getting the original draws makes it much easier.

Thanks for taking it into consideration.  :thumb:

Any ideas on how this special plate will be distributed to the buyers? Through another group buy sometime after this buy perhaps?

Would be really good addition to this board if there are any solid information on the switch-top opening plate! :thumb:

Pm RevoTeam about it. They do offer carbon fiber plates :)

Agree sample on the new colors would be nice.

Either I'm adding a middle layer or switching to those new ones. Is the additional mid layer still approx $50?

Yep,it about ¥50. i am still trying to make a render for the new color. But you can see them from Yuri.

Hi, new member here looking to build a custom board.  This might be cutting it a little close to the deadline, but I had a bunch of questions regarding this group guy.

Why would someone pick a partial plate over a full plate?
What advantage is there to getting the Yarbo cable?
Is the D logo permanently attached to the plate?

Partial plates can allow you to have the feeling of PCB mounted switches on your board (which some people think is a better typing experience over plate mounting) while also having the stabilizers secured by plate.

I'm pretty sure the Yarbo cable is simply aesthetic choice, no performance advantages afaik

The D logo doesn't have to be included on the plate (it's an option on the gb form)

Thanks for the reply.  For some reason I thought the D logo was something that would be glued to the keyboard if you wanted it.

Do people buy extra plates, and pcbs for extra switch choices and color choices?

PCBs maybe (just to keep extras...?), but plates are a bit harder to mess around with since they're kept in place with the soldered switches so I would think extra plates are a bit uncommon

What's the difference between the Yarbo cable and the normal cable? Is it just PS/2 support?

Yarbo is PS/2 only and has a much more refined connection.

USB has to send an IN token before it can ACK the host to execute a keycommand and is therefore fundamentally slower than a PS/2 that is directly addressed. USB runs in polling mode vs PS2 being "constantly connected".

:thumb:

Yeah Revo offered me carbon fiber plate for 30$, and i took it beacuse it is really good offer. :)

So if someone want an carbon fiber plate, i think you can still pm Revo for it. Maybe you can get it as extra.
