Hey guys, sorry for lack of updates on my end. Last time I talked to jd about it, he was tweaking the plate design I believe.

I have been kinda busy with real life for a while, first getting ready for baby, and then dealing with him actually coming. Our first child, a boy, was born October 8th, and between that and work I have been swamped. He was three weeks early, but all is well. When things settle down for me, I still intend to do a run of these from my local cutter.

Congrats mate!

No rush with the plates. Just enjoy your time with the little one.

Well that is one way to drop the hint, since Mrs. Melvang is also a member here.

No more kids for me.  I got the big snip after our daughter.  I just want a plate in ANSI 125.

What he said.
I'd buy 5 ISO-plates to start with :)

So, I was going to get a run of these done using jd's design a little over a year ago. I got a prototype one-off made and we figured out that it needed some changes to fit a ducky, but it fit my rosewill fairly well. jd was going to make the necessary changes to the design (which he did) and then I was going to do a run at a cutter that is local to me. I did not get this done before my son was born in October last year, and nothing has really been the same since, lol.

A few months ago, I got back in contact with jd about following through and doing a run of these. I got the most updated cad file from him and got a quote for a run of 50 plates. However, once again, I got busy with life and did not follow through.

I did at least do some work on actual numbers. If the quote the cutter gave me is still accurate, I think I can get these done for about $30 per plate. That covers everything except shipping.

So if there is enough interest for about 50 orders, I can still do this. I would not take any money until plates are in hand. If there's still interest, I will ask to start a group buy.

My time is limited, so I would want to keep the order limited to 50.

So, do people still want these?

EDIT: I should mention, this design fits ANSI only. I did not make the design, all credit for that goes to jd. If you want him to do an ISO design, you can ask him, but this buy will be for ANSI only if I do one. I am not prepared to have it be any more complicated than that.

I'll still definitely be getting one of these if they happen.

I'm not sure if the spacing between the alphas and the F-row is the same for those custom PCBs as it is for stock keyboards. The intent of this plate is to swap out the stock plate for this one in keyboards like Filco, Ducky, etc., so you can open the switches later without desoldering. And you could for instance switch the stabilizers in a Filco to Cherry instead of Costar.

I don't know how best to advertise this, but people need to be made aware that this plate works equally as well for an 87-key as for a 104/108-key. One plate for full size and TKL!

I see WTB threads in Classifieds all the time searching for Universal TKL plates...

Looks like the Filco PCB is universal (there are holes for ANSI, ISO and JIS).
How about an universal plate?

It can't work like that, unfortunately, because of the need for plate mounted stabilizers. Sorry. You're not the first to ask - I get asked this all the time.

Not sure about the Varmilo, but I think it's probably compatible with the CODE. I know for sure it will work with the KUL ES-87. :)

As i have said before. I can produce these plates in various materials used and if it is needed. I would like to see an ISO option since the universal is not possible because of plate mounted stabilisers.

Carbon Fiber

Steel

Aluminium

Okay i got the files, ready for production and orders. I need a proxy in the US that can ship all the american and international orders. I will take care of Europe if it is cheaper than just sending it via the US proxy.

I can't have all the options that i have in the current GB, however you can discuss if you would like some colors, or materials especially.

2-3 options would be fine.

If this IC is still active, I would be interested in an ISO-compatible plate if that is an available option.
