I put up both just so people could see what it would look like in either color.

Are there any other requirements for the svg image?  Such as that there only be one shape, or all lines be continous? I kind of cheated on the design and it works visually but I'm not sure if it would translate well to a CNC machine.

If you look at the black on white image...all of the "white" shapes are actually traced shapes.  The black is created by those white shapes being laid over a "black" circle.  That black circle is a little larger than the outside white shapes giving the appearance of a black ring on the edge of the logo.

I'm not sure if that is enough for Signature to work with, or if I need to outline that outer circle shape as well.

I would be interested in a few of these.

4x Imperial Windows keys for sure, preferably white logo on a black key.

Is the rebel logo still in the mix? If so I would want 2x Imperial windows keys and 2x Rebel windows keys.

Thinking these colors for the four keys.

Agreed.

I've been lurking here for a while and I still haven't figured the group buys.  I'm under the impression that there are extras sets of keys from the group buys that are for sale, but there's no obvious way to tell.

Maybe instead of a forum approach the group buys should each get their own wiki page?  Can you do polls on a wiki page?

Even more 'international friendly'?

I supported spacial layouts for the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Colemakistan, Denmark, Dvorakia, England, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Slovenija, Texas, United Kingdom, USA, Wales.

That may be TOO international friendly.  I visited Colemakistan once, locals aren't nearly as nice as the Dvorakies.

I realize Texas would like to consider themselves a separate country, but it's a little too late.  They missed the annexation party by over 100 years.

As for the Star Wars keys, I'm in on any that someone wants to make.  Maybe clickclack can make a Spirit of Jedi series.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Signature Plastics can do anything special (read: double shot) with the space bars, unless pad-printing is okay.

Can't do 2-shot space bars?  That's just lazy on their part.  The space bar is the biggest individual canvas on the keyboard.  It seems to be a problem with Signature Plastics.  There are people here who would spend $100+ on a set of fancy keys, and yet we have to go to them with ideas for keys?  If they aren't actively selling keys to us then someone isn't doing their job.

Surely there has to be someone else in the U.S. who does keyboard keys.  If I had more free time I would have already pulled the trigger on an injection molding machine.

And it is a cantina.

From what I understand, it's not a question of companies that make keys (because there are others) but a question of who can do double-shot keys and there doesn't appear to be others in the U.S. from what I have seen. Most other key cap manufacturers use screen printing, laser or etched/filled methods of doing the keys, none of which are as durable as double-shot. Dye sublimation (like on Topre keys) is highly durable, but the printing color has to be darker than the key cap color (meaning, no white on black). Kind of leaves you with few options. But I agree, SP should have somebody that's actively cultivating relationships with the modder communities. It could be a good, steady source of income for them.

Imperial key:  Black on White, White on Black and if possible, Red on White and White on Red would be amazing.  You know, I can also see that grey (GSC) working well, too.  I'm assuming you'll have some sort of vote for the final colors, right?

The blue looks a little bright for the rebel key.  Anything darker?  I've seen a picture of all the samples floating around, but not sure where to find it again.

And I'm totally going to want six of each when the time actually comes.

It shouldn't be that hard.  I found an Aurebesh TrueType Font file and that should make transition to svg easy--should is the key.

However, an Aurebesh keyboard would be just short of flying a geek flag in my office, but maybe they already know.

I believe it costs something like $25 to create each custom legend, plus the regular cost of making the caps once the mold exists.  So you'd need a pretty large group of people buying in to make it economical.
