Looks really good. Hopefully it stands up to use (statement born of ignorance about hydrodipping durability).
That came out really well!
Actually it kinda reminds me of my first computer that had a plastic case with ends coloured like wood :))
That looks great! I'm surprised it only cost $30.
Did you make the wood frame yourself?
LSB that case is sooooo beautiful! I'm probably going to spray paint mine in anticipation of jukebox..... :p
... it's gorgeous!! love your style and your attention to detail. The only thing better would be if the case was made out of real wood. :))
How well would this work with an HHKB do you think?
Might want to do mine o.o
Sorry for kinda resurrecting this thread, LSB, but I was wondering the same thing about hydro dipping an HHKB. The worry for me is that the layer of film on the case mounted housings. I wonder if that would create any issues. What do you think?

I had MorbidStix dip my KUL case based on this post. My observations is that there is some thickness added by the process. While the hydrodip transfer layer is only a few microns, I think the clear coat and primer that MorbidStix uses in addition adds some thickness. That said, unless the part has some extremely tight clearance, you should be fine. I don't know what the HHKB clips look/feel like.
A good thing to consider is that people use hydrodipping to cover their guns all the time. If it was too thick there, it would cause jamming of the firearm. Rednecks like the security of having a gun that is always ready to fire, so if it jammed, we would have heard about it.
The link seems to be broken for me. Do you have a mirror?
Thanks for the followup! I am still considering doing this to one of my HHKBs...

Wow, that looks great! Yeah, for some reason on mobile the imgur link was broken for me.
That's funny. I wanted gunmetal as well. Which one of us is gonna take the risk? I vote youThanks for the followup! I am still considering doing this to one of my HHKBs...
Yeah I really want to have him do a gunmetal grey on one of my HHKB cases.

Is the paint very think?
Just wondering ;'cause the case top is effectively the plate, and I don't know how much leeway there is in the slider holes.

I don't know which I like more, the woodgrain/1976, or the red/white. Almost too awesome :)
They look totally awesome and amazing!
Sorry for the thread necro, but looking to mod my Novatouch and this caught my eye. Is it pretty simple to just take apart the Novatouch and send in the case?
Looks like something I would get interested in. Doesn't the QFR have to be stripped of everything? Any tips on how to get this done?

Stripped? how do you mean exactly? I know some have the rubberized kind of case. My QFR didn't but my NT did and it dipped just fine.
I just had to take the case off and send it off :thumb:
I freakin' love Italy! My hat is off to you Erzegovaz :)AHahah Hi there! :D So you are welcome in Tuscany if u bring some keyboard with you :p
