It’s based on 276C Pantone, blue infill and yes, it will glow in the dark

Wow, I am disappointed by the kit prices, especially the base kits. This GB was a guaranteed purchase for me, but with these prices, I am wavering a bit. I don't think I've seen base kits this high before in GB prices. With how popular purple is in this community, I think this set could sell very well, and the prices could be lowered because of it. I echo the above statements and have the same sentiment. With many November/December sets coming, this pricing is quite a deterrent. Any particular reason the base is $140/150 USD? Why is the dark different pricing? It may be naive to say, but I am not seeing new molds that would drive these prices in the base kits? I've been following since the IC and didn't think this would be around the same pricing as something like GMK Masterpiece which actually required a crazy amount of new molds.

Dark MOQ is 150, and that’s the 10$ difference.
Per report, GMK Masterpiece was subsidized.

Kono priced GMK Shoko R2 at 250 MOQ, and everyone and their uncle knew that would sell 1000 base kits easily. Other vendors price routinely at 500 MOQ. Some use a day 1 promo to buff the numbers (Space Cables this month, switchmod and Dixie previously).

Don’t get me wrong, the dark base at 149.99 in 2020 is rough, but as soon as I saw the vendor I’d worried about the base kit at 145.

I'm based in Thailand. Is there any obvious reason to choose either iLumKb or zFrontier? Past experience suggests that customs clearance is a little easier for goods arriving from China, but really not sure in this case.

I had taken " blue glow enamel fill" to be glow in the dark not shine through, sorta like the Mizu or Terra Rama caps.

Also while pricing is challenging at times impressive that you fought to lower the dark base, and lucky for those interested to get a shot at one base or the other instead of only having a addon alphas which would be much more expensive.

The price is quite eye-watering, but I couldn't resist the dark base set, the novelties are nice too so added them to my order.

I was thinking about maybe grabbing the Amethyst artisan and deskmat too, but what are the dimensions of the deskmat?

Never mind, I should have looked at the links first. MyKeyboard didn't have them listed, but I found the dimensions on zFrontier.

For anyone else wondering, the dimensions are 900x400mm.

I suppose this is a case of 'Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'.

Yes, if kit doesn't make it, all participants will be refunded.

If it stayed about as low as of last update, then I personally doubt it. This kind of kit is not too popular, not a lot of profits can be made.

I was so indecisive on whether or not I should get this at first. Well as it turns out I grabbed the dark base, novelties, and the amethyst Rama. This is the most cash I've ever dropped on a keycap set and it's hands down the best $258 I’ve ever spent(including shipping), can’t wait to throw this on my KikoLabs KL-90! Also, is there any chance we'll see a KAT version of this set? I personally like the sound KAT makes more than GMK, and this set is absolutely gorgeous so it would be perfect for me.

Often there’s no updates as GMK hasn’t provided any, and they don’t want to push one out still saying it’ll ship this year when it obviously won’t. Later in Q1 2022 seems a reasonable guess right now.

the kono status page linked above shows it was last updated 28 oct, and it’s the update page that shows delivery 2Q2022. yes, i’ll take it with a grain of salt but it’s a lot more realistic than the GB page which still indicates shipping in sep/oct (now). yes, please stop laughing

GMK is currently quite behind their production estimates. Each project will likely ship at least a month apart.

Then lists the 5 sets that are next, which Amethyst isn't even a part of. So minimum 5 months, more like 7.5+ months since every other set estimates 1.5+ months shipping.

On top of that, supply chain keeps getting worse. May is optimistic.

"Estimated production from GMK was originally 36 weeks, but due to numerous delays with production timelines has been pushed back.

GMK now estimates a late Q1 production completion, with about a month and a half of transit. Estimated arrival Q2 2022."

Overall, I’m pretty disappointed how it went. Communication is simply terrible, I had sent roughly 4 to 5 e-mails over the past 2 years to end up waiting more and more. I know… covid… but still not great experience!

Ah yeah, that does make sense though. An order isn't shipped untill all items from that order have arrived, in this case it's delayed due to the Redline keycaps. With any keycap GB that's often hard to predict sadly. GMK has been pumping out sets lately so that's a good sign. It ran november 2020 so besides some color matching delays it should be arriving Q1 I imagine. Don't have direct access to delivery estimates myself though, I'm also reliable on GH page for example.
