Huh, well that kinda puts things into perspective. I was sad about watching the last episode of DS9, now I feel a little guilty for feeling sad about it.

researching illegal immigration and Donald Trump

Is it designed to be enlightening or propagandic?

John Adams:

"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."

"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

I'm not a philosopher, but I get hung up on epistemology. Some facts aren't possible to know, can be interpreted different ways, or, at the very least, require personal experience to know for sure (or expertise to understand). Some topics are so charged on both sides that it's impossible to know which is true because each one cites evidence supposedly disproving the other. And, if we rely on experts to tell us, how do we know they are actually experts unless we are too? How do we know the experts aren't biased?

So, in essence, how do we know anything?
Maybe they're waiting for gasmasks and latex to get sexy again.

As in all aspects of life, we make the most sincere effort that we can with the information that we have.

Disbelieving in the face of verified  information and valid logic is inherently disingenuous.

As humans we only perceive the approximation of what is and is-not..

Uncertainty is the only certainty that is also uncertain...

That is as far as we go- (For now)

In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit.

Bothered by the fact that I can't sleep to save my life right now.
I wake up at the most stupid times whenever I have the day off. But if I'm working I could sleep forever. I just am not allowed to because of my alarm.
Well **** you too, body.

Rise with the SUN,   window shades always open at night..

So when you wake up ,  the light programs your body's circadian rhythm.

I need to try out those fancy apps that track your sleep schedule etc.

It can't hurt,  but the process is pretty affixed to "Light"..

20-30% of genes are coded to respond to the daylight schedule.

If you wake with the Sun,  that's 90% of the task you're after.

If you're in a country that has naps/siestas,  stay awake at least until 1pm before a 1.5hr nap. You must wake before 3pm. So you can get back to sleep @ 10:30-11:30.

My dead i7 5775c.  The cracked die explined the dead iGPU and seems this burn mark explains the rest of it giving up, but that doesn't make me any happier about it - pretty sure it cost >$5 per hour I used it

Deliding probably had something to do with the death of the iGPU, I actually bought EK 'Naked Ivy' mounts with the intention of running it lidless but once it half-died I chickened out.  Then I ditched the water and swapped to a non battered smaller case with a big heatsink and ran it at stock for a month or so before it died completely.

Currently running a Pentium Anniversary G3258 at 4ghz and it's doing everything I need it to and it's doing it quietly - I don't need a fast computer so I'm not going to spend any money on getting one.  The i7 nightmare has overridden all fond memories I have of messing with hardware.

Currently got 2xG3258 2xmotherboards for same and 2x8GB ram. I don't know what to do with them?
I understand that your nightmarish troubles with your pc has killed the joy, but hopefully that is just for now and it comes back.

Think about it this way..   if you break it.. you get to Buy m0ar c0mputers..

Tp4 recommends Delid + overclock to at least 4.2-4.4ghz on the G3258..

Then pair with something like 1060 gtx (will be much cheaper in 2-3 months).

Not a bad idea actually. I think I even have some an old graphics card lying around.
I'd be to invest in delidding tools though. Might as well do the 8700k while I am at it.

4ghz is with -0.02v with a quiet 180mm fan blowing at it from far away it stays below 70 when stress testing, deliding or even just adding a fan on the heatsink and I'm sure it will go much higher with sensible volts but I haven't even added an exhaust fan next to it because the fun has gone.  4ghz was my benchmark 2600k, this has more IPC too so that'll do.  It's paired with the passive 1050ti I was forced into buying when the iGPU died.

I have 3D printed the older version of this delid/relid tool, guessing the weights it looks to be <£5 to post to Denmark if you want to borrow them?

Well,  i mean, if you DON'T  play with it,   what else are you going to play with.. ??

I think I may have a line on someone pretty close to me though.
Great!  Hope it goes well, at least you have a spare if it doesn't :thumb:

Well,  i mean, if you DON'T  play with [your computer],   what else are you going to play with.. ??

You raise a good question :))

First I need to finish winter-readying my bike (would be easier if Kona or WTB had replied as to what my wheels are as they don't seem to exist), then I should actually use my computer to learn CAD/CNC related stuff so I can get me more money and more interesting work in my new job.  But CAD is one of the few justifications for needing a fast computer...

z97,  the effects of settings are pretty worked out..  So you can more/less just copy people's OC template,  then Lower or Up the voltage..

For several years now, my feet have ached after I have stood a lot or even walked medium distances.
I had my first visit with a orthopedist about a year ago, and it took several attempts until I found one that diagnosed my problem a few months later. Of course, it was revealed that have damaged sinews in the bottom of both my feet.
I have unusually wide, short feet and I have a problem finding shoes that fit the width of my toes and/or the total girth without the heel slipping around and/or there being extra space in front of my toes (like walking with clown shoes).
I have therefore often had to cut off parts of the inner sole to make a shoe fit. I have also used extra soft shoes so that my feet would hurt less.

The good doctor (the one that does not suck but actually knows his stuff) told me that I had been doing it all wrong: He prescribed rigid shoes with proper arch support , the opposite of what I had been using. My foot arches had sunken a bit so I needed extra arch support. I was prescribed anti-inflammatory medicine and that I needed shoes with these properties for my feet to heal properly.
In February, exactly half a year ago today, I went to an orthopedic shoe store. I talked with a orthopedic foot specialist about what kind of orthopedic inner sole that I would need, and the foot specialist told me that he would contact me by mail when my soles were done.
And then I waited ... and waited ... and waited. And then I contacted the store and was told that I was going to get a phone call back. And I waited... and waited... and waited.
Today, after more nagging last week I had finally got an appointment to pick the soles up. I went there ... and they were wrong: Instead of being corrective and symmetric with proper arch support, they were only casts of how my feet had been. No extra arch support.
Apparently, they had misplaced the notes about what to do... and then slapped together something in the last minute. And he does not even want to admit that he had done a mistake but that these would have been the ones I had asked for.
****ing retards!
Now I have to find some other place to get orthopedic shoes. The healing process has been on hold all this time I have waited.
IT HAS BEEN A FRIGGIN YEAR since I first went for help. As you can probably tell, I am very angry right now.

That reminds me, I need to call and complain about a medical bill. I was scheduled to get a sleep study done all the way back in May, but they had to cancel on me. A few weeks later, shortly before my next date, they informed me that they forgot to call my insurance company and so they would have to postpone the study again. That's all and well, but I switched insurance at the end of June to a high-deductible plan since it's 100% paid for by my employer. So by the time I finally got my study done several months later, it was on my high-deductible plan and I got a bill in the mail for almost $700! They will be getting a very nasty call from me to dispute that charge, as my insurance would have covered it 100% if they weren't completely incompetent fools. Secondly, once I got my follow up visit with the sleep specialist, we literally met for about 5 minutes where she asked me all of the same questions they asked me months ago and she just said that I should go back to my referring doctor to get further treatment options. That 5 minute chat cost me almost $200. So I'm being charged nearly a grand for a complete waste of time and my sleeping disorder is still not fixed. I saw an allergist a few weeks ago that was far more informative about my sleep issues (he doesn't even specialize in sleep medicine) and he basically told me in a nice way that the doctors at the hospital I went to are idiots. And who says healthcare in America doesn't suck?!  >:D

I'm beginning to think that tp4 isn't actually a person behind a screen but indeed an AI, designed to sow confusion and create chaos.  :))

Just logged on to gmail and had horrible flashbacks of when windows XP dropped the nice 'watercolor' theme in favour of it's final bold, cartoonish looking theme with comic sans.  I never used that theme anywhere even when it meant editing the registry at work to disable it!  If that wasn't annoying enough I got a reply after two full business days saying "we don't deal with freedom products anymore, contact them".  If there's one thing I hate it's trying to find something with a stupid name, tonight is not going to get any better...
