Hello people

I managed to get in contact with desperado clack this morning (Actually at 3:33am cause he's weird like that) he says he's on the mend (hopefully) and should have some announcements trickle in within the next few weeks, and he "hit the ground running" so far in regards to getting stuff sorted for this, further more he said "someone was supposed to be updating GH for me" so it seems he thought someone had let us all know a while ago (Gnome gonna get it) he says "guessing that fell through as only some people seemed to know what was going on" Bad gnome bad, and he is responding to my email as it came through as thing are coming together which is why he is responding to this particular email.

-cc  =)

So CV should be shipping soon, urrm he should post something soon so yeah, have fun then.

ohh and he says thank you to GH for the support through this catastrophe

Ohh and PS: You can totally trust me too *Points at avatar*

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. Was it actually "taped" on? I can't tell from the photos if it's like a sticker or if it's part of the plastic.

Still anyone know if it's plastic or tape? If it's tape, well.... But if it's just a thin layer of plastic that's part of it, it's a cool thing.

Not taped?

I saw a picture of that from the long ago, when Clacks were inexpensive and readily available.

It was something like a prototype.

Still anyone know if it's plastic or tape? If it's tape, well.... But if it's just a thin layer of plastic that's part of it, it's a cool thing.

lol It still looks bad either way.

It's not as nice as the full skull but it looks like a prototype, the way to the full skull, which is neat

Yeah, that's what I thought.  That it was a early prototype.

Looks similar to those test runs. Considering CC wasn't at 100% during CV, perhaps something is better than nothing.

Get well soon CC. Hope all is well man.

theory is that a lot of CV caps are leftovers / mistakes like those off color jack o lanterns

fun fact: the candycorns that are not layered evenly were actually the initial intended design!

Haven't been online in awhile so all of this is news to me. Interesting.

That's the picture I was looking for.

It's not just something he knocked up for the last CV, it does seem to be a design from long ago.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I don't know if I should even get into trying to get a clack. After months before landing my first BBv2, I think it might be years before I pick one up for a decent price.

You don't know if you don't try.

And it doesn't cost anything to try (except your sanity perhaps).
