Title: [IC] Dedicated Keycap Set for 75% Keyboards. (50$ FOR THE BASE KIT) (Cubic)
Post by: CAPS UNLOCKED on Tue, 13 February 2018, 16:01:13
Hi,

This is a thread to gauge whether there is interest in a keycap set specifically for 75% keyboards.

Here is the current proposed layout:

--

Possible New Layout:

[attachimg=2]

This is a budget keycap set, that is aimed at those whom are looking for a keycap set for their new (or current) 75% keyboard.

If you would like to provide feedback for this keycaps set, please leave a comment below.

Kind regards,

capsunlocked

I don't think there's enough of a price difference between a tkl set and a 75 set. Might as well buy a tkl set and save probably more money because of moq fulfillment and have wider appeal.

I am absolutely down for this. GMK sounds awesome. I would also be in for DSA.

Thank you for your feedback.

Unfortunately a standard 108/109 keycap set does not feature a 1.75 shift key.

Thank you for the feedback!

This is unlikely to be created by GMK, due to the price. I would consider DSA.

I would recommend adding a 1.5u Ctrl and a 1.5 Alt for the right of the spacebar for those who would prefer not to use 3x 1u keys.

or for boards that don't support 3x 1u

Speaking of which, I recommend:
- 2x 1.5u Ctrl
- 2x 1.5u Alt
- 1x 7u Spacebar
- 1x 1.5u HHKB Backspace <---

I agree with this.

Could we get it in white or would black be the only option?

As long as is supports alternate bottom rows, and works with most 75, 68, 65, 60, and hhkb layouts, it should be worthwhile. 68 would require a second 2u shift.

Those can be added, however this set will most likely feature the DSA profile.

The colour scheme has not been decided yet, I was curious as to whether there was interest in the layout.

As long as is supports alternate bottom rows, and works with most 75, 68, 65, 60, and hhkb layouts, it should be worthwhile. 68 would require a second 2u shift.

I will only be adding keycaps that are relevant to the 75% layout, as I want this to be as affordable as possible. Sorry.

This is the latest layout:

Is there interest in this kit?

The Signature Plastics colours used are:

- Keycaps: NN
- Legends: GY

No colours have been confirmed.

That is better. All it needs now is split backspace support, which I might add, is an option and used on 75%s

Thank you for your feedback, this is going to be the final kit:

I think that this set will be produced by SP, and the profile will be either DCS or DSA.

The profile and colour theme need to be confirmed, so I am open for feedback/suggestions. :)

Can't help but say this: if you're doing split backspace, it's pointless without a R2 1.5u backspace. I'd add that, and make one of the blanks the | \ key.

Sure, I can add that.

Also +1 to DCS.

The text alignment on the mockup is off, any pictures of what is expected with DCS/DSA?

I have fixed the layout.

Here are some simple, but classic, colour schemes:

1.75 R3 control key please

Is the nav column intentionally left blank?

Tai-Hao can produce this set, and the base set will be 50$.

The profile will be cubic.

No colours have been confirmed; all suggestions are welcome!

All feedback is appreciated!

Switching out those blanks for R1 Printscreen, Delete, Home, Insert, R2 Page Up, R3 Page Down, and R4 End would be nifty, and maybe even make the R1 blank for split Backspace into Scroll Lock, that way there's a ~full set of nav keys instead of just blanks.

Just to make it clear, not saying that split backspace should be scroll lock, most likely delete may go there, but using that last blank spot for at least one of the nav keys is a good use.

The reason as to why they are blank is because not everyone uses those keys on a 75%.

A few users in the reddit IC were interested in seeing this set with the Miami Nights Colour Scheme:

Would REALLY love it in that color way. Might be my phone but the 2nd color doesn't look to be cyan like Miami Nights and though. What colors would you use? Instabuy for me in that color way
