Title: Apple PowerBook (ISO) inspired 60% keyboard
Post by: Cheveron on Wed, 28 November 2018, 06:37:13
My first laptop was a UK PowerBook 100. I still have the manual which has a picture of the keyboard in it, so this is based on that. Went to WASDkeyboards for the printing (it's a Vortex Poker III board). Went with the darkest gray, which is probably a little darker than the original but closer than the next darkest gray. They were out of MX blues, so I went with greens (which I'd been wanting to try for a while in any case). I'm really happy with the switches. With my typing style they are quieter than blues. My plan is to use this keyboard with the new iPad Pro. I've ordered a micro-USB to USB-C cable so I can plug it right in.

It's a modified version of Univers 57. I found that Apple had tweaked the font by changing the angle and the stroke width. So I adjusted it until it lined up with the scan from the user guide. Unfortunately I only had pictures rather than a real machine to work from, so I don't know how close it is, but I'm happy with it.
