I'd also recommend getting Nuka World and Far Harbor expansions. Many prefer Far Harbor but I really like Nuke a World.

I thought Far Harbor's story was even better than the main game. Excellent dlc.

Group Buys and Preorders / Re: [GB] GMK CYL 1520

How did this do? NovelKeys says "order placed" so I guess everything hit MOQ?

Novelkeys has transitioned to pre-orders, instead of group buys as they ensure each set they run is made. The set hit MOQ and everything will be made  :thumb:

It would seem like run-away is almost a certainty at this point.

This is going to get bad. We're at potentially 3-5 meters sea rise by 2100 according to the latest, but it looks to be accelerating even beyond that.

Reviews / Re: Ball Bearing Blue Switch Review

Links worked for me.
Kind of an interesting idea, you should conduct one more test, try it without the balls and see if anything feels different.

The problem I have is that there's one ball per side, that's not really enough to guide it and for it to do much it would actually decrease the point of contact. While this can reduce friction it can also increase long term wear, especially when there's a decent chance it's not actually rolling but simply gliding up the shaft, dissimilar materials against each other slide better that similar materials. This is why some companies use different plastics on housing vs sliders, it's not all just for sound.

I'm not saying it doesn't work, it certainly can make it more smooth, the question is how, how much and how it will work long term. I do appreciate them trying something new, I just wish they'd put more than one per side, one just seems meh. I'd argue a self lubricating/oil impregnated bronze bushing lined shaft or stem would make it far better (though far more expensive to design and manufacture). Mostly though is any of it really necessary if lube is doing all the work anyhow (if done properly)?

Anyhow, thanks for the review, they're interesting and I probably never would have known about them otherwise.

I am assuming no QMK?  Not spending money on another keyboard with QMK.

As an update, the beam springs themselves can now be ordered separately here:
https://www.modelfkeyboards.com/product/beam-spring-extras/

They are IBM spec and some folks have used them to repair original rusty or damaged IBM beam springs.

Yes confirmed; that original proposal was not selected for production.

Gonna do a Fallout 4 playthrough with Life in the Ruins modlist, never actually finished the game.
Golden rule of the wasteland...
"Thou shalt get sidetracked by bullsh*t every goddamn time."

Took me a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time to finish Fallout 4 for that reason, the main story is so meh that after a while I forgot there was an actual main quest to complete until I got bored and came back to it. It's actually a rug-pull and you have to get over that hump but the end is actually pretty good and there's multiple way s to finish it, it's just that they failed to make you really bond with the family and make you chase it. An alternate point of view though is that the real point of Fallout 4 is the side quests, not the main story, which kind of makes sense in a way.

I'd also recommend getting Nuka World and Far Harbor expansions. Many prefer Far Harbor but I really like Nuke a World.

Finished Fallout
Sooo good!!!

Would this show work for a person who never games?
Yeah, while it very much follows Fallout lore, it doesn't require you to know anything about the game, in fact knowing the game actually makes some of it rather predictable (though in a good way).

The market got flooded with cheap knock-offs and while there's nothing wrong with them they became the norm so the trend changed.
