Do we already have confirmation on how the GB is going to run? (fcfs, raffle, auction, mix)
None of those. Unlimited GB through vendors.

Is this keyboard designed as having Poly plate originally in mind?

I am trying to decide to see which plate will give a slight deeper sound.

Switches play a large part so if you are after a deeper sound, I'd go for something like cherry black with poly plate.

I'm like super close to picking up another board but if there's a GB date then I'll hold off.

This looks amazing. You're amazing :thumb:
Will there be an option for the color of the logo and weight? Hoping for a black with raw polished SS logo and weight.
Sorry in advance if this has been answered.

Wow, I literally just caught wind of this by accident. This is looking awesome!

Any ideas how this fits in terms of timeline? Many boards coming up real fast, need to make decisions based on what will be available :(

Thanks!

Coronavirus probably ****ing up a lot of timelines. I'm in a Kickstarter that closed just before the outbreak as well and it's just delays after delays because the product needs to be produced in China as well.

Makes sense, China does 28% of the world's manufacturing and probably 80% of the custom mech communities (I wonder if there's actually any data on that.)

Fairly new to the keyboard scene. If I were to install my own RBG LEDs into this keyboard, would that customization/configuration also be controlled by QMK? Or is there a set function key and commands for lighting settings? Thanks!

I can’t find any information online on whether the WT75-C PCB this keyboard will use supports RGB LEDs, it’s more common that PCBs only support two pin, single colour, LEDs.

Yes though, any lighting a keyboard has, be it RGB underglow or backlight, can usually be controlled through bindings you set using QMK, it as a range of keys for controlling things like hue, saturation, animation, etc. You can find more information in the QMK documentation.

You would not be able to add per-key RGB to the board unless the PCB supported it in the first place. Single-color, dimmable backlight — sure, that's controlled by a single GPIO pin and most PCBs support it, but controllable RGB requires the LEDs to be wired in a matrix and a separate driver chip to be present.

Any chance you can share pictures and/or a video of the construction, since you have a prototype. I’m curious to see how the pcb and plate mounting works but the render you shared doesn’t make it all that clear to me.

The pcb has wilba leaf spring (that I can see) and rests on some sort of gaskets. But what the us the way the plate contributes here? Can’t really figure that out.

Edit; oversaw the link to the build album. Question regarding plate remains though. Is it only there to support the switches? Is it in contact with the case as well?

It is held in place by the switches and held up to prevent unclipping by the damping layer so you can build this completely plateless.

Might be because English is not my native language, but what exactly do you mean by “held up to prevent unclipping by the damping layer” ?

Switches have a nub which holds it tight to the switch plate and because the plate doesn't have any fixing points to the chassis, it is possible for it to unclip from the switches if you somehow push down on the plate really hard. The damping layer keeps the plate pushed up to prevent this.

I get your meaning, so the plate is held against the top part of the case by pressure from the dampening layer. I assume, looking at the build album, that plate will sit inside the machined out part of the top case to prevent it shifting at all?

The plate doesn't shift due to being held in place by the switches and the switches are locked in place from soldering them into the PCB.
Only the PCB has direct contact with the chassis.

I won't be adding this as an option but I will eventually be releasing the plate files so you can get it cut in the material that you desire.

I just reread the OP and realized the plate can (will?) be polycarb! I like this. I have never tried plateless and I’m afraid of what happens when I clack too hard (I have heavy hands and I love bottoming out). But full plate aluminum can be too tiring at times. I’d love to try halfplate someday. But I look forward to the polycarb plate, not sure how much flex it can produce at that thickness while still being durable.

Ah yes I understand. I had this exact thing happening with my R1 cypher in the bottom corner due to the layout options (non-fixed bottom row) and used some Eva foam to prevent this.

It's poron. I prototyped silicone, rubber and poron and I chose the latter because it allowed for the most flex and was also the most forgiving in terms of tolerance and fit. Plus it doesn't smell.

Definitely getting one, but guess I'll have to proxy it from NK, because every package from them to Canada gets hit with duties and customs and costs like 25-50% of the package, especially if it's UPS that's shipping it.
