I find that subtitles are almost always a much better translation than a dubbed English version. Although I generally miss a lot in the beginning because I'm not the quickest reader and I enjoy the cinematography which ultimately distracts me from the text. Usually about 20-30 minutes in I get into a 'groove' and it all comes together. Picture and text become one.

You mean just going to the webpage through the browser?

I have absolutely no idea...I shall try it out and report back. Feel free to tune in in a few minutes if you want to try it yourself. I'll stream some TV shows as I test it.

Yeah PS doesn't play well with flash. Hell, it won't even stream my local radio stations web stream. Looks like I need to dig up another cable and stream via laptop.

There's no app on the PS3 for either LiveStream or Twitch (so it wouldn't help to switch streaming services), so that's a no go.

And as for using the browser: it's not compatible with the version of flash on my PS3, and the flash is up to date, so I'm guessing that applies to everyone as well. :|

Sorry, but I'm not sure there's a way to get it to work. $:-\$

Yep, it's a flash thing. PS3 does have flash, but not the right version. That's sooo dumb...I wish these developers supported more devices. Somehow.

Isn't it crazy? Of all things. Versions of Flash won't work on a PS4 or PS3. Still to this day. My movie night experience would increase 10 fold if it did!! I miss my laptop so much.... RIP

Thanks to everyone that made it out! I think we had a decent turnout, maybe 5 or so. The stream lagged a bit, so a couple people dropped the stream and watched locally.

Ditto. However after a couple people left 20% of the way through it cleared up and was fine after that. First stream I've seen with any real lag, but was worth the wait, was a fun film

This is a very interesting movie for how old it is. I had a class in sound engineering school called psychoacoustics where we analyzed the sounds in this film. They use certain frequencies that interact with one another to form what's known as binaural beats that kind of screw with your mind a bit in an odd and eerie way. Two frequencies that are off a bit from one another create a pulsing sound. One frequency is played from the right and one from the left. On their own they are steady, but together....Very cool.

If your sound is in stereo that is. You'll hear it in most of the scenes where they are in the suits on the surface.

EDIT: I guess that's called spacewalks
