Full text VS full icon modifiers
« on: Wed, 12 April 2017, 07:05:28 »
Currently working on a DSA set and am a bit stuck on whether to go full text or full icon for the modifers. While icons are nice and simplistic, text conveys the "feel" of the set more.
Simple mockups for each option is found at http://imgur.com/a/QZ8I2 and a render of the set so far is at http://i.imgur.com/j4UWRA9.jpg
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and help with this.

have you IC'ed it yet?

If yes, ask a moderator to make a poll :)

That would be simpler.

Am currently working towards getting enough posts to do a IC actually. So it'll be a bit before I can, but I will ASAP.

I'll always choose text mods over icon mods. Unless a set has a really specific design that "needs" icon mods I don't think they look that good.
People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Does Granite count as a design that needs icon mods? Cuz in my book, it is the icon mods that make that set special (and worth getting).

Personally I like cherry style Text+Icon mods.

As long as my shifts have arrows, I'm not super picky though.

No, granite does look better with icon mods.

I'd agree with you on that one, Granite as a set works very well with icons.

But I'd say on the whole, I do prefer sets with nice text mods.
