Just curious, what will become of the "original" KIRA?  Are there any plans to develop that?

Input Club is developing it at the moment, and most of the legwork will come from them. I still have some ideas so I'm just making things I want.

Are they developing it in conjunction with MD? Or is this going to be completely I:C?

I leave it to them to decide how and where to do it, and I'm kinda keeping myself busy with personal projects.

not gonna lie, those pictures are beautiful

Thanks, my friend is a great photographer (shot those on a dining table with limited space  :)) )

Can I please throw my money at you now? Violently?

Side question here...

Is there a way to setup an RSS so that you never miss when group buys go live? I would love to get into RSS feeds but I don't know how.

My focus right now has shifted to the 60%, and I'm waiting on news for the PCB for the compact 1800. I'm not sure which layout you wanted, but right now I'm not planning anything until I have a working board. The 60% still needs minor tweaks, I'll probably raise the bezel and make the weight design on the bottom bigger. You can subscribe to this thread for when I post updates  :thumb:

I have been lurking around for more Kira (I:C) updates and found out about this. Good on you for both concepts (btw I hope you like the compact with no space between f-row, I sure do):thumb:, but now this is throwing a wrench in my plans because both boards are very appealling! Woe is me :-\.... heck if there is a sufficient gap between releases I might consider purchasing both.

I can't really say anything about the keyboard IC is working on, it's now out of my hands and they're still busy with their other keyboards. They said they'll try to launch it this year, but who knows? I'd rather focus on things I actually have control on. I won't be making a new prototype for the KIRA EX until I have a PCB to put in it.

That said, I now have a working board for the KIRA60. I'm glad the first prototype only has minor things I will be changing, and I'm actually using it right now. Here are some potato shots I did myself, since my photographer friend is out of the country:

I'll be selling this to a colleague and using that cash to do a second prototype with the minor changes I have planned.. so maybe in 3 weeks I can have an update again.

:thumb: absolutely in love with the angles used for these cases, will definitely be keeping an eye out on this Kira60.

I guess we will see when I:C's board overcomes the light emitting "basefoot" hurdle. Ethier way I'm interested to see the future for both however far off we are from the release dates. I'm definitely in no rush anyways since I've been knee deep in keycap group buys as of late.

Thanks man, hopefully the second prototype will be better and what I really have in mind  :thumb:

Yeah, that diffuser bottom and the indicator holes at the side are a hurdle for sure. Thank you for the support  :)

Not finalized at the moment, although I have already asked quotes for brass, stainless steel and of course, aluminum. Stainless steel is the most expensive one, around double the others because "it's harder so it's not as easy to cut". Brass and anodized aluminum is around the same price.

Thanks! Yes I'm from the Philippines, but currently in Singapore.

As for an update, I am waiting for the 2nd version of the 60% which should be in production, and waiting for a prototype PCB of the compact 1800 which is also under development. In the mean time, I can't just stay idle and count the days, so I made this:

Kabayan!

The sun and stars design will be used for all my own projects, but not for Input Club's.  :)

I know Invidious, but a LED-free PCB/case could also help keep costs down and maintain the clean lines of a case. (like the KIRA60) :thumb:
