Hi Everybody!
For the last few months I've been putting most of my spare time into designing and making hardwood keycaps at home using a CNC mill. It's been a fun and sometimes frustrating time trying to come up with a process that not only produces nice looking caps, but is also as efficient as possible. At this point I've fully developed SA and DSA R3 1u, and have pretty much nailed down 2.25u DSA R3 enter keys.
Because they're time consuming to finish, I have to fetch artisan prices and I still don't know if people will be willing to pay up for wooden keycaps. I'm experimenting with selling them directly through my web store mountainblocks.com rather than going with raffles or presales. It's a bit of a gamble, but I haven't spent too much money and I'm having fun. Needless to say, I haven't quit my day job!
Being new to the keycap maker community, I'm trying to connect with others to learn as much as I can about the business and let people know what I'm up to.
