Looks like rose gold wasnt picked. The point of the IC was to choose what 5 colors were being offered. Rose Gold seems to not be one of them.

There is a render, but that looks shiny, i believe the brass will be blasted like the midcase. But there was no brass in R1 so no photos exist yet i don't think.

Puddsy, thanks for your reply to my question in the IC regarding MAO vs anodizing. It was very helpful. I know it's been mentioned that the MAO is gray-ish in real life, but I'm wondering if it's more gray or more white. I put in an order for the MAO top and bottom case, but now I'm second guessing that choice after seeing a couple pictures (maybe bad lighting?).
I'd highly recommend anodized aluminum over MAO for this keyboard, at least with this new (dark) green and blue that i currently have on hand.
The anodising on this thing is miles miles better than the E8 and feels super smooth IRL. Here's just a ****ty shot of the alu surface and i don't think it does the board justice at all.

Yeah, definitely loving the color combinations for the ano. I've been wanting a white/brass build for a while now though, which is why I was initially interested in the MAO. Too bad there isn't an option for ano white this time around.
Still kind of flip-flopping between if I want to change from MAO to the teal.

I really wanted a blank weight but forgot to write it in the form. Is this an option only if an extra weight is purchased? I don't want to bother you with custom engravings so I figured getting a blank one and finding a shop locally would be best.

yeah the texture is different. And MAO is super matte, like superdoedoe said it feels like dry ceramic. Also its much more prone to dirt and finger oil than anodized alu, one of the advantages is that mao finish is usually very consistent and doesn't suffer from the defects often seen on anodized alu.
For this board I personally prefer ano as it looks and feels so good :thumb:. That dark blue/mao combo looks really awesome though.

I do like the feel of matte ceramic. From the some pictures with certain lighting the MAO looks super white and beautiful, but I'm more curious to know if it's more of a true white or an off white bordering gray. The ano on this board does looks really great though. Still kind of torn between if I want white or that teal.

Neither Anodizing or MAO will ever give you true white. MAO is still grey. The only ways to get white are cerakote, powdercoat or paint.

That's an interesting idea. When you say paint it you mean with actual paint? Or something like re-anodize to a different color? What would be the recommended middle case color / material to do something like that? Will any color or material work?
Who/where does re-anodization? I really like this keyboard but if I can't get the black/red/black top/middle/bottom then there's no point for me.

Guess I'm getting brass then, I really love the royal look of the green-brass combo. Together with Royal Alpha its gonna be dope.

Puddsy (plate). Do we need 10 interested in any part red? Like 5 middle case and 5 bottom? Or 10 middle and 10 bottom and 10 plate? This seems a little complicated. No wonder you just want 5 color. :\
I'm in 100% with red middle case. 200% with red nameplate (but I know there are only 3 plate colors haha). ;p

Haha, just because it might complicate the orders, especially if people cancel and redo. Then order random red top/middle/bottom cases, ask for nameplate and plate, etc. I remember you saying how hard it was to deal with having the option for usb on left and middle. Now we want a sixth color.As you said it truly make orders mess .

One of my friends said that the panda stems in zeal housings were his god-tier linear. Anyone have any experience with that?

I would have liked GMK or SA Camping on that choice but I skipped the recent GMK Camping GB. I don't know what I'd place for Black-Red-Black (GMK Red Samurai might work but I got that for the Dark Red CA66) but I have some time to find a nice keyset. Worst case, I use something that doesn't look the best until I can get one that matches well.

Let's not make light of certain situations actually happening to people. While it's very likely people are just making excuses (and excluisve just wants them to be honest and upfront about it), these things can happen at any given time.

A little long but I want to write out as much as I know.
Just because someone is trustworthy doesn’t mean something can’t change that.
Ivan was running about 3 GBs and suddenly disappeared with the money. The GBs were for PBT black on black, Miami nights, and a keyboard kit (don’t remember which one, might have been a red scarf). He was able to run so many at once because he had built up such a reputation for running smooth GBs. It was the 4th time he was running PBT black on black in addition to many other GBs he had done before. He was THE most trustworthy GB runner and before the he ran off, people swore he would always complete a GB.
Some say he got into some serious money troubles and he used the GB money to fix his situation. Others say it was a scam all along. I don’t think anyone knows what actually happened and anyone who tells you they know for sure is probably lying. The GH mods recently logged into his account to see if they could find anything but found nothing.

Confirm R1 was EXCELLENT!
Exclusive is a genius with plenty of inspiring ideas, we become good friends after the R1.
He handles the whole GB progress really well, collecting orders, help guys changing options, double rechecking all orders, organizing the manufacture, handling tasks/issues about the factory, seriously quality check, delivery the final product in time.
I joined many GBs before.
However, I cannot find any other runners that is such responsible as Exclusive who can:
1. help you change your order from times to times
2. cancel your invoice only after double checking with you about what's going on
3. do very-well after-sale service
4. high QC standard and check every board carefully by himself
5. runs GB efficiently, the waiting is really short
so I also join R2 this time!

Also, from the sample picture above, what do the pink outlines around the holes mean?
I asked Exclusive last month, the 160mm is the width between two screw holes, 210mm is the overall length of the weight.
He suggests me to use the 160mm area only because if your diagram/figure is larger than 160, you need to be care about where the holes will show up in your diagram.
The pink outline is just some line in CAD software to show the boundary of holes, it will not be shown on the surface of final product, and personally I think the area inside cannot be printed since the surface is not flat.

Yeah. That was a baller IC thread opening and I love Persona but those those icon mods need to be changed. I can live with white alphas since they're still nice and go with everything but the icon mods can be made much better.

I know what you mean. I would have insanely preferred it to be strictly black and red. If the icon mods are done better and the alphas are less bright, there's a good chance I'll still get it.

The code hasn't changed, but there is now an easy way to make your keymaps.

3. the USB port position is exactly same, also the MCU position --> means no change need to be made about the case

I'd either countersink the hole then screw in a flat screw, or use any properly sized screw with a round or round washer head. The second option would be noticeable if you look at the keyboard from the top, but you should have enough clearance for any switches and keycaps.

You have to use QMK Toolbox and install the correct drivers. https://github.com/qmk/qmk_driver_installer/releases
If you've already added some combination of drivers, they will interfere with the QMK recommended ones.

I got QMK Configurator support up. At the moment it only supports the most generic layout that has all the switch positions. More will be added soon. For those who would like to assist, please create your keymap, flash it, confirm it works, and send me the keymap.json that you can export. This way I can figure out the layouts while waiting for my test PCB.

I uninstalled the stuff zadig installed. Now I am left with the default HID keyboard device drivers. I installed the qmk recommended drivers and still nothing. Whenever I press the reset key on the pcb it just comes back with those. Exclusive mentioned that the wiring is different than on round 1, and I used what amnesia had when I flashed. I just need to re-flash.
I wonder if the different in wiring messed up the Reset button on the back? I'll try putting it into bootloader mode by shorting the correct pins. e: Eh, the reset button works fine. I'll get it into dfu mode somehow. And soon.

You'll be able to tell if you put it into reset mode as QMK Toolbox will report it disconnected and then reconnects it.
I simply can't get back to bootloader mode even if I short the pins on the controller directly; it just goes back to an HID keyboard device, and qmk toolbox doesn't recognize it. Nothing happens when any keys are pressed. On my planck everything works fine when I hit RESET. QMK toolbox sees it and is ready to flash.
Looking at the wiring in the LE E6-V2 config.h you wrote it is indeed different than what's on the OE version. Can flashing with the wrong pin wiring / programming mess with the atmega32u4 bootloader? I might need to flash a new bootloader using an ISP if so. Like in this post. (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/66sji0/bricked_tada68_and_how_i_fixed_it_a_novices_tale/)
e: it really does sound like a driver problem. I need to disable driver signing and manually install the drivers in the qmk-firmware-master folder. No amount of running qmk driver installer bat or exe will help.
e2: still no dice. I've orderd an ISP and some leads to flash on the atmel32u4 firmware. There are headers to connect the ISP, right next to the reset button on the pcb. Nothing seems to be able get me into bootloader mode for now. I think anyone else should be ok as long as they use the newer LE E6-V2 layout.

I know it works, and that is how I was able to flash it in the first place. The problem is I flashed the round 1 E6-V2 firmware onto my pcb, which seems to make it hard to get back into the bootloader to flash it again since the reset button doesn't put it in flashing mode any more.
It was my mistake, and will be fixed in a few hours once I restore it back to the default firmware using an isp programmer. No one will have any issues if they use the round 2 E6-V2 firmware, referred to by merlin64 as LE.

Once I hooked everything up I was able to flash the default ATmega32U4 firmware onto it using avrdude:

I think the problem is actually my Reset button, since even after fixing my problem I still can't get into reset mode with the physical button. The bootloader was probably fine all along. My first flash had a Reset already programmed in, so when I flashed it with the wrong layout I had no way of resetting again. Now that I have a working layout I have an actual key again to put it back into reset mode.
Awesome! I'm still trying to figure out the layouts so its not all just "THESE ARE ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN PUT A KEYSWITCH IN". I'd appreciate if you could forward me your exported keymap json file so I can better craft the LAYOUTs.
I was able to flash my layout, however, the configurator swapped the \ and Del keys (split backspace layout). I can just rearrange those and flash again, but thought I should point it out. Otherwise working great with my hhkb layout!

As long as you provided a valid phone number to Exclusive you should get a text from DHL once it has been picked up and scanned into their system. I'm still waiting for mine too :p

Just got my set. Packaging was great. It is a shame though that you can still see marks from where the components were held during anodization. Maybe that is just my set of components but its pretty obvious. The matte black PCB is a really lovely touch. Polycarb plate is also really well done.
My only issue with the kit is that the anodization between my top and bottom housings is really off. It is hard to capture in a photo but my bottom is almost a matte green where the top is a shiny green. It isn't the biggest issue since I will pretty much just see the top of the keyboard but it is still a bit disappointing.
I look forward to putting this keyboard together.

the color top shiny and bottom matter i thinks is a little ,coz when anod the top and bottom on the same hooking however the top is thinner than bottom ,it will transformation earlier than bottom .

Absolutely incredible quality on this case and I can’t wait for the switches to get in so I can build it.
On another note, did everyone who got a bootmapper pcb get the matte black one?
I got the QMK pcb and it’s a yellow/orange color that IMO doesn’t look that nice. I’m not super bothered by it but if I had known they were going to be different colors, I would’ve chosen the bootmapper pcb. Especially since it’ll also most likely be ported into QMK.

Just built my E6. My only problem with it is that since I chose the MAO option for all my nameplates, the letters are almost impossible to see even from just sitting at my desk. White was used to fill in the engraved parts for two of them and for the plate that says e6-v2 there is no filling at all so that one is basically invisible even up close. Other than that everything is perfect and I'm glad I joined this group buy :thumb:I have the same thing with my MAO nameplate and it makes me super happy I decided to get a second in a different color. Though the MAO was my first choice before I realized it was “blank”.

This may come as a shock to you, but I believe some refer to this unusual phenomenon as a "pet peeve".
It's not like my keyboard noise is any less quiet or annoying to others, I think it just has something to do with the noise being transmitted through a video. If it were real life my blood wouldn't curdle like it does with a video; there's something about it I just can't put my finger on. Like an uncanny valley but for sound instead of 3d animations.
e: I think it might have something to do with the actual video being of someone's hands typing. If the video was of text being typed into an editor then I could probably focus on the sound more, and not cringe internally so much.

Yeah I thought about that, then tried it just now. Still feel the cringe. I have no idea what it is. Sound fidelity / not in person? Unnatural typing speed; as in, you normally would type with pauses and gaps? Can't see the text being typed? I need help either overcoming my typing test video watching issues or my typing test video impulse to watch knowing what'll happen issues. Or my *****ing about it on gh gb thread issues.
e: Just to reiterate, I really do appreciate anyone who loves the board so much as to take the time to record themselves typing on it, as a means of showing off its awesomeness. Kind of hard, even for me, to **** on something like that and not give credit where credit is obviously due.

All pvd parts have enlarged ,is same as Mao also have enlarged a little
So if you get pvd silver top and pvd silver namplte it may can’t fit it
However, I have fix it the nameplate a little .

Thanks! I was really worried the colors would come out brighter than the renders (there have been a bunch of recent GMK sets I thought would have been better with more muted colors), but it's pretty much perfect. Really happy with the whole set and it's a happy/unplanned coincidence that it matches so well with the sandblasted brass.

I don't wanna become that guy, and so I have my antennae up much more these days, but I can't help but ask if anyone has any spare bits they are willing or looking to sell.
Mainly I am trying to recreate the board pictured here: https://groupbuys.mechboards.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/E6-V2_GMK_Metaverse_2.png
It's black-red-black and has a silver nameplate. I know more bits go into the build but that's the main parts I care about.
In the off chance someone has a lead, please poke me here or on Reddit (same username) or Discord dilkROM#8860.
Fingers crossed and if no results then I toss out admiration for the GB. :)
