Brass plate

It’s a lovely keyboard to type on, congrats to everyone who got one.

I paid my shipping invoice on Sunday. How long after did y'all get tracking added to your paypal? I usually have to request packages get held for pickup because I live in SF and my apartment is old without a mailroom haha

Sometimes takes a week. Sometimes less. Sometimes more. Took over a week for the tracking number to actually work in 17track after I got it as well. There was about 3-4 weeks between me paying shipping and receiving the board this time iirc.

So I am new to keyboard building and have a question.
Does TGR Jane kit require you to solder your switches?
Or does the PCB come ready to be hot-swappable for switches?

Thank you

You(or someone else)’ll have to solder the switches.

Very little to none of the higher end boards come with the ability to be hot swappable.

most people who are spending this much money on a keyboard are generally of the opinion that hotswap isn't that good

not everyone, but those people probably aren't going to be buying a jane in the first place

Why isn't hotswap considered that good?
I love that my K type and MD ALT is hot swappable.
In fact, if I end up joining Jane v2 CE, I was thinking of asking someone to solder holtites to make the pcb hotswappable.

Blue Gray is BELIEVABLE AND ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

There's no way there's a finer keyboard manufacturer than TGR. I'm 150% blown away with the quality.

Admittedly, I should have gone with a bigger contrast difference for two tone, like a Cyan top. But the Blue-Grey was too hard to pass up.

ye i would have gone with cyan as well cause this a little looks more like an ano mistake than two different colors

but it's sick as hell regardless

i had a similar looking effect on my board. i can't tell if it's an illusion or not because at some angles it looks the same and then you can have an angle like the one phatty put up that makes them look different. i didn't post a pic because i can never get the cool shots other people somehow seem to get. if you saw pictures i took, you'd think i hand drew what i think a keyboard looks like.

all in all, very grateful to have had a chance to get this. thanks yuktsi! i, too, am genuinely blow away by the quality of this kit.

literally my pictures are garbage but people still go "oh nice alice"

mostly i was just talking about the color difference because there was a board that came out with a serious color difference in the x60r GB and i'm just comparing some stuff

On my lunch break and only had time to take a few snapshots. It's really hard to describe how incredible this kit is. I know the buzz word is endgame, but I assure you, for a TKL, I can't fathom a superior product.

Let the boners ensue.

Truly amazed. I have to think long and hard on what switches I want to put in it. I have Cherry retooled MX Blacks sitting on my desk. I'm torn between the SPRiT 63.5g MX Supreme's Fast Curve or the standard 62g SPRiTS.

Also, not to sound lame, but I feel guilty putting my grubby, oily hands anywhere near this thing.

The color is literally perfect. Hey yuktsi. Your product and PACKAGING is unreal. I swear you could drop the custom TGR cardboard box off a 3 story roof and nothing would happen. Maybe the acrylic plate would suffer, but thats about it.

Thank you all for pursuading me to get another PCB combo.

The color is literally perfect. Hey yuktsi. Your product and PACKAGING is unreal. I swear you could drop the custom TGR cardboard box off a 3 story roof and nothing would happen. Maybe the acrylic plate would suffer, but thats about it.

Thank you all for pursuading me to get another PCB combo.

what keyset are you planning?
Probably a simple EnjoyPBT set --- 9009 probably.

On my lunch break and only had time to take a few snapshots. It's really hard to describe how incredible this kit is. I know the buzz word is endgame, but I assure you, for a TKL, I can't fathom a superior product.

Let the boners ensue.

Modern Dolch completed this build for me:

I put some Royal Alpha keys on it just to make it more unique.

I've modded or built at least a dozen keyboards by now and still pry each switch open by hand to lube. Is there a better, inexpensive/diy way to achieve the same results?

If I wasn't consumed by working full time then bed/bath renovation until bedtime, I'd be done by now.

also used to use

The switch cracker works well I take it? No issues? Does it work with Kailh as well?
