Are those as High Quality as Bros?  He said they were injection molded versus cast.

Are those as High Quality as Bros?  He said they were injection molded versus cast.

Keycaps are as high quality as their finish and the subject being rendered.  If you LIKE the style of a key, that greatly increases its aesthetic value.

Many artisans like to use the highest quality thermosets they can find.  I love to use high quality resins because they get the look and feel I want, but it's not advertised because these are not meant to be abused, and if there are visual problems with the key it is more likely an issue with the sculpt/mold than the quality of the plastic.

I think your question is assuming a few things like, Brocap quality sets the standard for artisans.  That is very subjective.  The next assumption is that an injection molded key would have questionable quality. While it is not hand mixed and poured plastic, it has its own challenges strengths and weaknesses.  I'm not saying HKP are injection molded.  That's not information to which I have access, but please be a little wary of material/process hype.  Support the artisans you like and want to see prosper.

That's my favourite of the defunct HKP designs. I was hoping they would make a comeback at some point.

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Awesome!  It's fun to see that the BBV2 is the one design that you own in every color family.  I feel like that would be the most common cap to hold that status in people's collections, which is a testament to the scale with which Bro released them.  :O

tyty! And totally agreed, the sheer amount of different colorways available for the v2s is definitely one of the main reasons I love them so much! But even more so than that I feel like the way he actually conducts his raffle sales are some of the most accessible out of the artisan sales. Most of the Bros I own are either directly from Bro or a trade I made using a cap I got from Bro in one of the sales.  Compare that to my clack collection which is 100% obtained on the secondary market.  It definitely helped me in growing my collection :thumb:

The one thing I have noticed is the lack of orange though :( Seems like it's one of the harder colors of Bro to obtain
