[IC] GMK MOAI : Announced GB Date!! 4th MAY
« on: Mon, 07 December 2020, 20:32:37 »

I'm happy to announce a set I've been working on for a while!
I am interested in world history, and I am also interested in world mystery facts.
One of the biggest inspirations that I designed this set was Moai.
The moai stone statue was made of volcanic rock.

I think the color of volcanic rock is not completely black, but between black and brown.
Also, I think the inside of volcanic rock is somewhere between grey and dark gray.

For more information on moai, please see the link below.

I think this has nice inspiration. I agree that it is a little similar to dolch, and I bet there's a way you could do something to help differentiate. I'd like to see more variation in the novelties, they all kind of look the same. Neat idea though and I hope you continue to work on this.

I agree with your opinion.
If you watch "Novelties" carefully, you'll see it differently.

We plan to continue updating.

The IC form has interested kits as radio buttons, which would be better as multiple selections.

As to differentiate from dolch, maybe add some accents of colors typically shown in Moai photos? Like green / brown of the grassland or blue from sky / sea? I noticed that some photos even have the stones in yellow-ish warm colors under sunshine.

Novelties will help make this different from other sets. Really hoping to see something very creative like "Maoi" on ISO or 1.25 keys.

Definitely agree about adding accents. Not to beat a dead horse, but it might need some extra colour to differentiate it from Other Sets. I bet a yellowish grey for accents/spacebars would look awesome. Also agree about the novelties, the concept is really cool and I can see a lot of potential for landscape/beach related designs. GLWIC!

After collecting feedback on IC Form, if there is a color that matches MOAI,I plan on applying colors.

That 1st pic/render of keys (just the key no keyboard) made the set look god awful, but all the others make it look appealing.

Looks too much like Dolch, please become more innovative. It's like doing Carbon copy but with green legends instead of black. It doesn't work~

Colors are similar to dolch, and legends are harder to read. Would recommend trying to get higher quality renders if possible, because it is hard to see how the set will actually look from these. Not a bad start, but really needs some tweaking.

I dont understand the addition of a yellow accent here. It looks good objectively, but given the subject matter it makes little to no sense. Unless you have a good rationale for it, I just really don't think it fits here.

There were various feedbacks through IC Form and feedbacks about the beaches and sun of Easter Island. There was also an opinion about green grass.
I thought about it a lot and worked on it.

I generally agree that this is a good looking yellow accent but hard to be linked to the theme.

Have you tried to looking at GMK sandstorm as I think it got some yellow / brown color that can be linked to sand / stone?

No pressure on it as I consider GB a way to group people with similar preferences and produce what you want. Don’t work too hard to satisfy everyone.

I blinked and this became GMK Incognito?  :))

I don't hate the yellow accent but I'm having a hard time linking it to the set. The vibrancy looks a lot more like a Heavy Industry/Incognito cybery vibe than anything to do with nature. If you're set on yellow and are still open to colour tweaks, may I suggest you look for a less saturated yellow?
