Does anyone know where I can find replacement parts for a MG kit? I tried gundamstoreandmore.com but never got a response. I know I could mold and cast it but I really don't want to invest in all that if I can help it. It's a really small part that is probably used in multiple kits but I don't know which and the sellers I've contacted either don't have it, don't respond, or don't carry parts for MG. I'm dying here as I'm mostly done painting but can't really do anything until I get this part
What part and kit is it from do you have a image of the instruction and I can look through my parts box for you

It's this little guy here.

It's part of the body unit where the should attaches. And I said 1/144 scale but it's 1/100.
Ahh its the inner shoulder piece I don't have a spare of those unfortunately, your only real option would be to cast a mold of the other one, that being said it wouldn't cost all that much to get it done, but its going to be the same as buying another kit both ways :/

what do you guys do for Gold plating.. like the akatsuki model..

How do you guys get good gold without it being factory plated.

I've never really had to do any gold plating type kit, but my best guest would be these option:

Buy the plate version & be very careful on nub management. Then use a gold gundam marker to hide any imperfections and cuts.

Airbrush/ spray can gold paint onto it.  The biggest problem is just finding a gold that looks right - I've seen some custom painted gold kits look amazing, and others not so much.  This video may be helpful on finding the gold you like best:

Hrrrm,, but that Mirror like effect.. I guess perhaps get the unplated model, then get it plastic chromed at the specialty shops

Yea I figured but at least if I invest in molding/casting materials I can start working on some custom keycaps

if it's that small,  you may be able to whittle one out of wood. of course you'd still have to soak it in some sort of glue, because wood has no strength when small.

much excite  ;D

upcoming Impulse Gundam is very nice too: http://www.gundamplanet.com/mg-zgmf-x56s-impulse-gundam-blanche.html

Zaku looks super cool..

I don't even remember Impulse from gundam seed,  what episode was it in.

Been awhile since I watched SEED Destiny, but it was in the first episode for sure and I believe throughout the show.  Although this one is from a side story or something.  I do really like the white/grey colorway on gundams though.  Just wish it was more detailed like this custom build one I saw.

Really wish Bandai would stop with the P-Bandai BS and start churning out new models.

Saw some early pics of it awhile ago and am looking forward to it.  Id be down for a Gipsy Danger & Stryker Eureka for sure.   Saw the movie in imax on release so I was able to get some cool posters, just need to frame them and they should look good with the kits.

Gundam wise; at least we have a new MG coming out.  MG Sniper II.  Looking at the MG list I cant believe we only got three new models for 2016.  I remember getting into gunpla in 2012 with like 12 new MGs for the year.  Hope Bandai makes up for a disappointing year of releases.

Have you tried any of them before?  Quite a few of them do look pretty cool.

I would prefer a MG, but this is still pretty nice.  Maybe even seeing a P Bandai 1/100 ReBawoo later?

Recently moved to a new apartment, so not much to add in terms of new purchases.  I did manage to buy a Gundam Planet Nipper on Amazon though.  Hopefully get to test it on a MG Freedom V2 this weekend.

And P-Bandai 1/100 RE ReBawoo.

Also the first MG for 2017:

Anybody here into Maschinen Krieger? I used to be into gunpla, but the realism of Ma.K designs really drew me in. Seeing others' work inspired me to start learning how to hand-paint with Mr. Color lacquers. You can achieve some very interesting effects since Mr. Color Thinner "activates" previous layers and lets you blend colors.

Here's 2 of my finished kits:

I have not, but very impressive paintjobs.  I really only do gunpla, but have looked at getting a UH-60M model kit.  Although I would prefer a L or A+ just because those are what my unit operates.

Received a RE 1/100 Nightingale from my GH secret Santa, and a 1/100 Gusion Rebake from family.  The nightingale is really making me look at compressors and airbrushes again... hurray money sink.

Thanks for the compliments guys! I haven't done much modeling since keyboards have become my main hobby lately, but I should probably make some time for it so my skills don't get rusty. My next "goal" is to learn diorama making so these guys can have a cool display base, but that is a whole big discipline of its own, lots to learn!

Pretty sure its the model kit: http://www.goodsmile.info/en/product/5957/PLAMAX+JG+02+Gipsy+Danger.html
SideShowToy's version is a fixed statue, I think you're thinking of the NECA.

I especially love the ones that make use of "smoke".  I think it adds a really cool dynamic look, if you can nail it down right.

Try Kotobukiya.  I want to say I saw another company for them, but can't think of it right now.

RE 1/100 Nightingale.  MG 1/100 RX-78-2 next to it.

Currently buidling the Gusion Rebake 1/100

Airbrush & compressor should be here Tuesday =D  Also have a MG Char's Zaku II and MG RX-178-2 on the way.

I've actually never painted a model before and don't own the stuff to so it'll be a straight build.

Afaik that's the only one so far. Wave is a company in Japan which currently holds the license to make those kits. The tank has been out for a while now and has been relatively popular due to the cult status of the games, so I'd hope they'll make other kits available!

It's a modified kit. I forget what the robot is, but it's supposed to have two arms. The guy ended up removing one of the arms and then modified the body to be the destroyed Death Star.

It's f**king amazing. I'm very impressed. That's a lot of detail for a kit that size. I'm always baffled with some of the modified kits I see on the internet.
